Porsches aren't immune to it either - I've heard the manual on the Cayman (which is cable-linked, since the transaxle is in the rear) described as feeling more like it is linked with a bungee cord than a cable (and I can't disagree that much - it's really nice and smooth, but the gates are a bit vague sometimes). Basically, just about no car is going to be perfect in that regard...

Hyundai really needs to address their manual tranny in he next car. Just throw an Asin in it. And I do think Hyundai will address it, they don't like standing still. |

I cant believe the z vs frs/brz is still goin on.
![]() all I know is that my pops 370 gives my girls frs a beating in everything we have done. That being said he has the sport package, it costs more feels a bit more numb and I feel like I have blinders on when I am in it. But shit some people don't care how numb it feels if it goes where you want it. I watched a review a while back (possibly one of the reviews here) where the guy said it felt like the motor was not happy at it's limit or was not responsive or was a bit Weezy. But after a tune/reflash it a hell of alot better. Throttle response is much better and the motor loves red line. N/A mods have cost just about the same we have spent on the frs with a much bigger power gain. Even considering the weight difference. F/I may cost more for the z, but the gains seem to be a lot more as well. it is hard for me to really pic though. I love both. |

You have to be have owned both and be an enthusiast to see the differences. My BRZ feels great, one of the best steering inputs out there. I only rate it better then my 370z because of weight. That being said, my 370 drives practically the same. It's precise. Period. It's faster and goes around the track quicker. Now, talk about numb feeling cars, drive an Evo X. Is weight, electronics, height play into all that. But it's faster then all of those. It's great on the edge riding the line but its mushy and heavy and like I said very tall. Completely different experience. In short, these debates are pointless 90% of the time People are computer seat racing, comparing numbers blah blah blah. Hey your entitled to opinion. But yours count to a small percentage of people who actually drive/drove the two cars. And not just a quick once around the dealer lot or block. On track, they are very good. One is lighter and way less power. The other is heavier and a lot more power. Both chassis are great.

Both are good cars and I can't fault anyone for getting either. I like the practicality, light weight and mileage of the twins for being a daily driver though. |

That's quite a bit overboard...
Turbo kit is overkill too IMO. Exhaust/intake/tune if anything, that gets you up to ~250hp which is plenty. Suspension wise just sticky tires on the stock rims are good, or slightly wider/lighter wheels and tires for another grand on top of that. Brakes just need pads and lines and fluid. Maybe some OEM Subaru 4-pots. Anything more is overkill on a 200hp 2700lbs Subaru (I know this from experience). I'm sure just those couple things will allow you to keep up just fine with a 370z and not spend nearly as much. |

Aside from whether or not BRZ can beat a 370z for nismo price (I'd put money on the brz assuming the driver is competent, assuming 42k including car), 370z nismo is way overpriced IMO.
You can almost get a corvette for that price. Or just a mustang gt + track pack, which slays the 370z on most tracks. I think they need to put the Z on a diet. Hoping they do with the next generation Z at least - I've heard hints of it, but nothing concrete yet. Until then, there's plenty of other cars I'd (personally) choose for the money, if we're talking about a track car. I'd much rather see a BRZ STI with some track upgrades, though - even if it doesn't have much more power, coilovers, brakes, tires + other sti bits would be really nice from the factory. |

I don't know what E/I/T even with a full exhuast, your looking at to give 250hp.. Even on E85 people with all that are around 200-205.. Unless your talking about fly wheel hp... And then no.. Not even close.. I. Putting 175 at the wheel and it's still dirt slow.. 25 more hp at the wheels is not enough.. 250 at the wheels might be enough, I've heard a lot of tuners say 300 is perfect.. Idk I've never been in a high hp or boosted 86 yet
