Same, I'm in too. Last NCRC Laguna Seca day I went to they did 2 Solo groups as well.

Let's just hope it doesn't end up like how our GT5 sessions go... Chris doesn't say anything, beats us all around the track and then leaves early. LOL

Thanks Chris, I'm in! I've had it penciled on my calendar but didn't sign up, waiting for other folks to decide. Let us know when the second group pops up and I'll try to get registered. This will be my first time at Laguna with the BRZ, lets hope rwd doesn't screw me on the corkscrew, aim for that tree!

If you want easy (as in not too twisty) autoX, I'm planning on doing Stockton this weekend. Still up in the air though (wife couldn't decide what she's doing )

Haha, well if you really don't want to do autox/HPDE then just say so! Otherwise we're all here to help. If you want do to Laguna Seca, I'd say sign up for THill on Sept 27 so you get some track time and are able to sign up for Nov 3rd.

Yeah, I do and I don't. Not sure yet. I do appreciate the offer to let me use your extra helmet.

I'm not sure I would really be comfortable racing on stock tires and brake pads. Basically my car isn't really to where I want it to be yet, plus I know that if I go once I'll get addicted to a hobby I can't afford!

the beauty of autox is that you can get away with stock tires and stock breaks. you wont be winning any awards but you will have tons of fun plus more seat time.

I hear ya. Gotta have the dough to support this expensive habit. That said, you can definitely get away with stock tires on track.. you will have to get some better pads though, but nothing too fancy, I'm running Stoptechs and they work great. I kind of wish I ran a track day with stock tires, just cause they communicate so much better if you're doing it right or wrong. Just look at what smmmurf can do on stock tires! Humbling to say the least.

But no pressure, just letting you know it's possible and that I have a helmet if you're game

I hear ya bud (I was gonna offer you a spare motorcycle helmet I had lying around that I've demoted to gokart helmet). Just like any hobby, you can make it as expensive or cheap as you want. I've unfortunately paid for the scca membership, so I'm motivated to get my money's worth (wife points permitting, lol). As you well know, I'm running completely stock (other than my questionable "visual enhancements") and plan on running it that way for a while.

This morning I took a drive to Alice restaurant I was 1hr late but turns out I made it on time hahaha. Around 10 or so 86s. We drove all the way to stage road. (my 2nd time) to a hidden secret town that bakes awesome cinnabuns bigger than the size of my Asian hand for 2 bucks. I was feeling lost getting to stage road I was wondering when is the left turn. I don't remember. Bad timing perhaps when the moment we left the bicyclist group also left. So the group splintered into three. I felt I was the middle hahaha. Loved the drive not a single car in sight just open road all the way towards stage road along with few bicyclist and another group of them. I brought the walkie talkie this time! I was saying hello hi if anyone could hear me I think I'm lost Any 86 out there hello hahaha Not a single response I was like darn it. Glad @overlookedx took me to this place the first time. The roads became familiar and I made a left turn. I made it! I slowed to a stop. I was thinking to myself if I should stop and wait and allow the other 86 to see me. Moment of silence then walkie talkie made a sound saying stage road is coming soon along those lines. That's good, I began driving again. I noticed the group caught up to me and I was looking back and to the passenger side look at this its a car commercial! Driving over mountains with wildlife on either side of the roads the terrain is mountainous and bumpy! The road definitely is being worked on. My favorite road that was coming up was the tall trees on both sides I wanted to stop to take a picture (when my phone is still alive) However, the 86s behind me are mere seconds away from me. Eventually I reached the town. I met a new person name Chris. There's probably 4 Chris now? Maybe 5 or 3? Who knows. I Saw many familiar faces I may forgotten their names bahahaha. It has been a while. 2 weeks or so. or maybe 3 weeks I haven't driven. Sorry there's no pictures to show my phone died when I was driving to stage road. Good drive overall my favorite so far. I definitely drove much faster than last time my car was slipping a bit in the rear. I had a blast! Good drive everyone. Oh I forget random two cars came into our group. A 370z or 350z whichever it may be and RX something If I wrong please correct me. Caught my by surprise when those two were revving up on the left lane. Oh Chris, I didn't do a full sideways up the left turn! Hahahahaha. I remember that spot. I'm tired and sleepy. Good Bye maybe next time I'll track who knows!

@Simpleviet, nice write up. Thx. Haha there are a lot of Chris' now. Next time I forget a name, I'm just gonna say Chris haha
@Clipdat, you'll be fine on the track. HPDE would be great as your first (or so) track event and in the meantime, you can read up about LS. Miata/Porsche/Mustang club sites have endless info and pointers about tracks. There's also videos. Personally, I like how we are trying to get on LS in Nov, never been on LS so having you guys around will be that more fun.

been a while since I posted a video up, been back logged while I got my new camera and editing computer set up. Hopefully the improvement in quality is noticeable. Here's one from our Mines Rd drive a few weeks back.
