Also... who's up for a drive this Saturday morning? Looking for suggestions as to new routes as I've done all the old East Bay favorites (Redwood Rd, Palomares, Mines Rd) fairly recently.
I'm up for a drive on Saturday morning! The GF is out of town so I have all weekend haha. I was actually already planning to explore some of the routes around 35 Skyline/84 etc. on the map here:
http://www.alpinespeedstars.com/map/

I'm pretty slow-paced and never been any of those routes so I'm don't have any personal experience with how clean/gravely etc. the roads are though..

Nice, where are you located? We could meet up around/at Alice's on Skyline/84, and take 84 out to Stage Rd, and down to Pescadero. This route was part of the trip Automobile Mag took down to Monterey in the Aug 2013 issue.
http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews...on_martin_db5/

Depending on how early you want to get up we could get breakfast at Alice's or just drive.

Sounds like a plan, I'll be coming from SF and I can make it to Alice's by 8:30 at the earliest, I can do later in the morning too. I'm fine with or without breakfast, just let me know beforehand so I can arrive empty or full-stomach'd haha

I'm down to do this drive as well Saturday morning. I'd prefer to skip breakfast and make it as early as possible so I have more time for stuff the rest of the day. I'll be coming from SF.

Also, Plato, I can get those stickers from you then, just let me know how much I owe you.

OK cool let's meet at Alice's then, between 8:00AM-8:30AM. Eat in advance or bring your own breakfast. If the lot is too crowded then park across the street at the Mountain Terrace lot. Plan to roll out by 8:45AM. We want to hit the road as early as possible to avoid other traffic/cyclists. If you have walkie-talkie radios bring them! We will take a more relaxed pace so this will be a great event/drive for the newer drivers or anyone who's never run with us before.

And yes, this will be a sticker-earning event that will get you eligible for the 86DRIVE summer-end raffle! More info/details on the end-of-summer raffle party will be coming soon...

When I talked to them last week they said these are the two busiest weeks of the year for him so it's best to let that settle down before I talk to him some more. If that doesn't work out there are other shops I can talk to but this one is the first and best choice in mine and @MyRx opinion.

I'm ok with waiting a little bit.. I plan to wait till I get the wheels on first, since I may tweak the height after that.

86DRIVE club discounts!

in other news... wanted to remind you guys that we are often out there trying to get group discounts and savings for our 86DRIVE members, much like the group alignment deal we're working on.

Check out the new vendor FTeightysix.com they are an approved vendor on FT86Club and they have offered an additional 5% off coupon code for our members. Use coupon code '86drive' and you can start shopping by going to http://www.fteightysix.com/pages/86drive.html

I am not in any way tied or affiliated with them, but they reached out to me and offered us this discount so I am passing on the word to you guys, check them out and at least give it a shot when comparison shopping! Plus they're out of state so you can save a little on sales tax.

I think we've informally mentioned this before as well, but locally we have a similar kind of deal with LPI Racing in Livermore. Stop by there and check out their racing and safety equipment, like helmets, harnesses, brake parts etc. Most recently a bunch of us were planning to do tranny and diff fluid flushes so we got a great deal on Motul Gear Oil 75W90 through LPI at about $18 per bottle.* Just go in there or call them, and tell them Jessie or 86DRIVE sent you.

* the Motul gear oil is usually an order item, it takes them a few days to get it in after you place an order, then you can go pick it up.

I forget who was interested in doing the track day Nov. 3 at Laguna Seca, but the Solo group recently sold out. Says on the site that they're trying to get a second Solo group together for more people. When the second group pops up I'll be registering right away, so any other 86drive people who want to come out should jump on it too! @MyRx @Clipdat @BigFatFlip @SnakeEyes @PMok @Simpleviet

LOL, I think I need to start out slow with some HPDE or Autocross before I go out on Laguna Seca, as fun as it sounds.
