I don't know how those tires compare to the Prius Michelins some of you got, but you can't totally dismiss that website's survey results.

From my experience, my Solara came with Potenza RE92's stock and went bye bye pretty quickly and replaced by Turanza EL 400. Supposedly, the Accord came with that tire at a particular moment, so I bought in...

...TOTAL CRAP. They get busted out of shape real quickly on potholes and developed nasty vibrations in my case. Ended up purchasing some regular flavor Michelin tires from CostCo and haven't looked back ever since.

The Primacys are crap, I had Michelin replace them as a customer courtesy @ 80% credit. I put some Pilot Sport A/S on the car since we have shifting climate change where I live. They are no where like a Good summer tire, and even farther away from a Great summer tire. But they grab well in Rain, actually very good.

I had Pilot Sport AS and I think they are acceptable dry and wet but snow traction was abysmal, also were wearing fast but the car was totaled before I could see their true treadwear. I'm happier with the Continental DWS.

I have the Bridgestones, and I hate them. I guess I'm used to having tons of grip as my last car had Pirelli PZeros (Which arent the greatest summer tires, but at 245/275 wide...). I absolutely hate having my tires make noise/squeal when just turning quickly to get onto the frontage road or dealing with Houston traffic in general. Tires are number 1 on my list of things to replace when I get money.

Don't put words in my mouth. I never mentioned winter traction, nor was it ever a factor in anything.

What i did mention was turning and braking. Apparently I should have made storytime for you. I live in bumfuck new england, i.e. lots of narrow windy roads through the woods, a willingness to slide around is not a good trait to have on these roads, and especially not the unsure feeling of the front tire grip. However the braking performance was the nail in the coffin. On maybe the second day of owning the car I had a panic stop on where some dipshits decided to cross a road without looking and nearly got reamed thanks to the incredible stopping performance of the turanzas. I was not speeding, it was a well maintained and dry paved road. 5-10 feet shorter stopping would have made the situation a non factor, these tires felt like ice skates in the panic stop.

The next day new summer tires were purchased. The car is a much safer vehicle since ditching the lrr turanza garbage, and it still pulls mid 30 mpg highway trips.

If you manage to get past the winter rating perhaps the "would I buy again" being deep red would be something to look at.

Lrr tires do serve a purpose, but i have a hard time justifying their treadlife and mpg "claims" vs safety and incident avoidance. A few feet can be all the difference in the world.

I swapped out my bridgestone turanza for a michelin pilot sport a/s for winter and have to say its a pretty good tire. Then i bought some michelin pilot super sports for summer and wow what a difference. The performance is not even comparable and ride quality is surprisingly much better.

Just because tire technology has progressed in leaps and bounds over the last however many years or that 4th world tires sold at Walmart are trash does not mean the turanzas are any good compared to modern tires for performance vehicles in their price range (lol $150+ on tire rack).

Compared to the tires that came on the model t, yeah they're an engineering marvel. But that's sorta like being the prettiest Denny's waitress.

Yeah the turanzas are terrifyingly slick when wet. Dispose of properly.
