I have tried. It's hard due to the fact that I tried to replicate it on a lift today. But the car thinks its loosing traction so the trac kicks on. I can't record and WOT at the same time. I can only do it as stated like before. Throttle blipping with clutch engaged or WOT shifting gears. The noise is so abnormal. It to me the more I listen sounds like a loose shield rubbing/rattling. I checked every skid plate and shield on the car.

does it sound like metal on metal? I have screetch type sound if I'm around 4k and let the car engine brake, it will make a screetch then go away, and if I am at higher RPM and shift I can replicate it too.

I haven't gone under the car yet, but i'm suspecting something may be making noise under there. Not sure what, but i will look this weekend.

That is loud "clicking".

I wonder...The bypass valve would be opening and shutting rapidly when you are blipping the throttle. It shuts when you press the gas and as soon as you release the valve opens. I wonder if it has "wandered" from its original orientation and is tapping on something.

I remember when I was playing with it while the kit was still off the car... i could make it make a metalic clicking noise by pushing on the bypass actuator to open and close it.

Other than that it could be the loud clicks from DI seal failure. I hope not.

After watching it another time... does it seem to come from the exhaust?

Yeah, it has that tinny exhaust sound. Could be the youtube vid and mic though.

DI seals would make the firecracker noise pretty repeatably though with moderate acceleration between 3-4k RPMs though, right? If he's only getting it as pictured in the video i can't imagine it's the same thing.

is your AC on in the vid? Sounds like it could be the compressor turning on and off (edit after listening again it only sounds like the compressor the last few times it did it)... Climb under the car and check the exhaust system for shinny spots that would indicate metal on metal contact. You could also baby powder the DI seal area (on cold engine) and see if it puffs... saw one of the original seal failure guys do that test in one of his vids, made it very clear where the issue was.

Almost seems to coincide with quick throttle plate opening as the engine is dropping revs.. you get the prominent intake sucking noise immediately followed by the clicking, have you taken a close look at the throttle body area?

Can you make another vid with the hood up? Does it only do it when rollling?

I think the frequency depends on how bad are the seals and if its one or four damaged. If it is the seals, it would get worse with more use.

But then again, I am no expert and it might not be that at all, just speculating.

I am speculating as well, but his first description of the noise while shifting at high RPM is what most diagnose as their first sign of the seals going.

I'd try @mad_sb 's suggestion if you can get the noise to happen while idling and revving the car up.

It does not happen when the vehicle is at a stop and free reved or throttle blipped. I even tried it at idle with launch control set on and nothing. The vehicle has to be moving and the throttle blipped, wot shifting or low speed clutch in throttle blipped. It's just super hard to drive and diag a noise while trying to look under the hood.

have you adjusted your clutch pedal height from the DIY? i've seen some people adjust it too far and start getting this noise.
