Anyone have any advice for bumper fitment issues? My drivers side keeps popping out of the tabs no matter what I do it seems. I'm assuming my intercooler or washer fluid is contacting the bumper...

Also I have a terrible squeak now from the belt/pulleys, like really bad. I'm going to pull the belt this weekend and try to see if I can find whats going on

I've given up on mine. I know xjohnx has tried a few things including replacing the retaining brackets under the headlights, but nothing really helped in the long run. What's the squeak like? Is it similar to what Dezoris caught on video? I'd check everything to make sure you don't have something rubbing up against the belt. Pay special attention to the charge pipe leading into the throttlebody. Check underneath it as there are two pulleys that come within half an inch of that pipe on the bottom.

In all of the kits I've installed, I noticed that on some cars the foam that sits on the bumper beam tends to really make the bumper sit snug, some more than others. On one occasion, I accidentally left the foam off of our car & the bumper went on pretty easily. I immediately pulled the bumper off & put the foam back in, then noticed it took a little bit of effort to get the upper mounting holes (between the headlights) to line up. Of course, you DON'T want to run without the foam, but I would check to make sure that the foam isn't wedged in there crooked.

Keep in mind, the corners of the bumper (behind the side marker) are held in place by those plastic push pins. If one of those is broken or on the verge of breaking, it won't take much for it to come off. I'd pop off the side marker & have a peek at the plastic tabs to see if they're still there.

As for the squeaking, check the oil level & make sure you're good there. Also, pull the belt off & check it for signs of contact. Spin all of the idler pulleys & supercharger pulley by hand & make sure they spin smoothly. If either one of them takes a bit of effort to spin, that'll most likely be your culprit.

If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot me a PM!

That's one thing i haven't tried. i may try it without the foam today to see if it lines up better, if it does, then i will try to shave down the styrofoam beam to give just a little extra clearance.

I realized now that I forgot the foam to my bumper. LOL I need to check hte clearance we talked about at 86fest and get that foam back in. I'll report back to you when it cools down. Its just too blasted hot out to strip that front end down right now =/. Every time its nice out I end up in LA for work!

I left the foam out haha, I removed the front grill to see my intercooler and the foam looked stupid. I think I'm going to pull the bumper and check out all my clearances this weekend.

I checked initially for wear on the belt and the charge pipe like others have reported and have plenty of clearance. I'll pull off the belt and check all the pulleys. I do know it comes and goes, like it'll squeak for hour plus then be gone for an hour. Turning on A/C seems to make it louder but its still there even with A/C off.

I'll see what I find and might have some questions for yeah later this weekend thanks Rick

Looks like the smooth pulley on the drivers side of the engine is a bit loose, the one the supercharger bracket bolts to. I can wobble it slightly by hand with the belt off.

Any ideas if i can tighten it without pulling the charger offer? Will just torquing the bolt more help?

Did we ever get torque specs from vortech?

Anyone know where I can get a replacement belt? Turns out that's what is squealing. Any idea on a car that uses the same size/type I can grab locally?

We replaced one belt so far, Gates Micro-V AT K060975, picked it right up at OReilly's, $30.

It was so anticlimactic I was confused, seriously the easiest supercharger belt replacement ever.

Did you have to remove the supercharger?

Thanks that's the same one dezerois suggested. Apparently it's from a 3.8 genesis which is awesome. Headed this morning to get one

Damn that was rough for me... I had (and have) plastic bits EVERYWHERE in my bay, and destroyed two idler pulleys =/
