The price point is just my opinion. People are welcome to disagree with it.

If this were a gift certificate with no expiration date, I would feel differently about it. The expiration date in October basically makes it a coupon. I would pay more for a gift certificate than a coupon, because the gift certificate wouldn't expire and I could use it when I wished.

Whoever buys this, by the time they've spent their money on the discount, will have a $250 discount that they have to use by the end of October. If someone is planning to get an Innovate supercharger before then, it may be worth it.

An important point that hasn't been addressed at all is if this discount transferrable to another party. The fact that Innovate wouldn't let her combine her coupons implies that there are some limits to this offer. If Innovate is on the forum and can post a message stating that they will honor this discount if someone else purchases it, that would be best.

A gift card has a set value and doesn't expire (well, at least here in CA). This discount is just a coupon. Think of this purchase like a Groupon, except that if you don't use the value of this Groupon by the expiration date you're out your cash and the manufacturer doesn't have to honor the amount you paid for it.

Assuming its transferable, how are people complaining about a 33% discount?

By the time you've spent the money for the discount, you're getting $250 off of $3195+, not 33%.

This needs to be used directly through Innovate.

Yes it is transferable. There is no name specific to the discount so whoever gets it will not have a problem having it honored by the company.

Thanks for your reply.

I also PM'ed Innovate to ask them if they would honor the discount if transferred to someone else, and they replied "...we would likely not have an issue honoring it within it's validity period."

This is a good deal if you are planning to buy a innovate supercharger and not from California. The tax would cancel out the discount of 250.

I balked at the idea of demanding so much money for something you can't use, as there is no opportunity or real cost involved, but I kinda see the merit in it.

Good deal for someone who was already planning to purchase I suppose.

You are saving instantly; without doing a thing $250 dollars.

I think its more than fair.
Meh. She said she had TWO. I'd have given it a deserving member instead of trying to gouge it.

I think your point has some merit. I do agree the amount she is asking is too high (I wouldn't want it even if it was free, I'm going turbo). Making a small profit ($100-$200) I think for this type of thing would not be a bad idea though.

While to many it's only a coupon, this is an opportunity to save a lot on a quality sc kit. At least reward her for providing you with the opportunity to save some cash.

She drove down from NorCal to burn some serious rubber at the 86 DDA on Saturday, then showed her awesome ride off at 86FEST on Sunday--all before driving all the way back up to NorCal. Prolly wasn't a cheap weekend, but she won a couple of cool things in the raffle - one of which she can't use and has decided to sell at a discounted price from the face value of the coupon. And, she's about to plunk down money for an SC - why is it so terrible to recoup a little bit of her costs while still giving someone else the chance to also save some, too? And who's to determine who's a deserving member? They could turn around and sell it after she gives it to them, too. Don't want it, don't buy it. She's a really nice girl--some of y'all make it sound like she's being mean by offering someone else $250 off an SC.

Personally, I hope whoever buys the coupon enjoys having an SC as much as I know the OP certainly will. I can't wait to get a ride-along in her car at the next event we're at. She's awesome.
