I brought the FRS because I like having a real old fashion key. Also like the fact that the car doesn't pretend to be a luxury car. Budget sporty car for the win!

The OP mentioned the FR-S as a choice and the new FR-S trim is now comparable to the Limited trim sooo... (awkward)

If you have the keyless entry on your previous car, you would not want to go back. Thats just how i feel. I don't like taking keys out of my pocket anymore lol.
If you never had it, then it probably wouldn't matter. |

I was sure I was going to get the Limited, but now I'm heading more for the Premium.
Leather/Alcantara Seats = Don't want it, will be making my own design from Roadwire. Full leather patented designer series seats can't be beat. Seat Heaters = Don't need them, I'm getting 3 stage Cool/Warm Climate Control System (Ventilated seats) from Roadwire too. (Switches are even nicer) Foglights = Will be switching to FRS Bumper, so I can still use them. Spoiler = Don't want it, will be using 5-axis Heated Mirrors: I live in Texas.... AutoDim Mirror: Getting aftermarket Auto Dim Mirror with integrated backup Cam from Classic Soft Trim for the same price pretty much of the factory Auto Dim. So all I have left to justify the value is: Push-to Start Keyless entry Dual Zone Auto Climate controls. Nicer looking dash Yeah...not worth it for me. Personally I can't understand how someone living in the South can put up with those horrible Alcantara seats. In my test drive my back was already sticking to them. |

The OP was asking about the cheaper FRS, meaning not the scion 10 i bet. FRS, PRemium brz, and limited brz. I dont think 10 series was in the equation Last edited by WingsofWar; 08-15-2013 at 04:19 AM. |

I'm guessing he wasn't aware of the upgraded features of the 10 series, most in this thread appear to be in the same position and keep mentioning only the original FR-S trim. I'm not looking to argue like Luis_GT, just educate and help someone make a decision with all the variables. If he's interested in the Limited but hasn't ruled out the original FR-S either, then he should definitely also consider the 10 series of course since this entire question is should I pay more money for more features.

The Legacy's are actually really nice, but yeah. . Subies are not a luxury brand by any stretch of the imagination. They have always been a niche brand and if the CEO has his way, will remain so moving forward.

It being better bang-for-your buck compared to adding the upgrades on your own makes it worth it. Plus it can be rolled into your financing so you can spread payment of the upgrade across several years. Similar aftermarket parts may cost the same but have to be paid for up front (cannot be financed). Modding in the upgrades with OEM parts will cost *a lot* more and I don't think anyone has been able to successfully complete a conversion for fully functioning center console controls from the BRZ Limited to the FR-S.
That said, if you don't care for the upgrades, then it's not worth it. It's like finding the latest pair of Jordans for $50 with a BOGO deal on top of that. But the person who only buys driving shoes or the preppy hipster metrosexual could care less for legit bargain Jordans.

Keyless entry worth the price alone. I don't even know what my keys look like. I love it.

I agree, all of my cars are keyless entry with the exception of my Miata Island car.

Just FYI, the BRZ head unit already supports a backup cam, if you buy the $20 harness it's plug and play and you'll get the image on your HU screen whenever you go into reverse. No need for an additional screen.
