First off when the fuel pump is installed in the housing there are three pieces to be installed on the top of the fuel pump, the white plastic ring from the oem pump, and 2 Orings on top of it. Not using that white plastic ring causes a significant lack in fuel pressure. Sencondly, in the DW instructions it shows in the picture, but doesn't actually mention it in the instructions from what i've seen, the piece that clips to the bottom of the pump and housing (oem fuel filter attached to it) needs to be cut and the half that isn't under the pump needs to be clipped in to hold that metal piece in.
Been there and had both of those issues. I did not cut off the fuel pressure relief thingy from the fuel filter part so it wasn't clipped on the first time I installed my pump and I got zero fuel pressure. LJ told me what I did wrong as soon as I called him. Then when Visconti was tuning my car it started leaning out all of a sudden, and the problem was the top of the pump was unseating, so I had to add a second O ring. I have no had zero issues since then and the fuel pump is working great.

If you would have looked at @Sportsguy83 's post, you would have saw that my DIY link to the fuel pump is right on top, which describes in detail both of the problems you stumbled upon.

Exactly... Your DIY is extremely detailed and accurate as to how to install that pump.

Ha we'll then! When I googled it quick I pulled up a write up but it wasn't either of those. And it missed a few steps.
