Save your money. If you are only looking for something down low, get a tune or maybe some headers. Or, for cheaper (maybe) change out your final drive ratio. Your butt dyno will feel more.

Will we gain any more after combine these two?

Thanks.

If its meant to bolt to stock it should fit. The only gain I see from this is a gain of $$$$ in their pockets.

Dyno's have proven to increase whp from independent owners. Only bad dyno I have seen is from Dsport. For 400 bucks I rather just drop 4-500 more for any of the Syms intake duct or buy an intake duct from max racing or the other JDM intake duct that just changes the air scoop both do there purpose which is to increase throttle response along with a little bump in WHP. OEM box is already designed really well so you can make it even better by allowing more air to be sucked in with a duct and if you really want to get the most performance out of them you can add other things like intake tubes/a better drop in. If you get the TRD intake you can still change out the air scoop with the JDM duct that cost around 3-400 or the Max racing one for about 250-300 but by getting both the duct/TRD intake your already spending close to what a Syms Intake costs which is IMO better over all.

The reason why I don't mind spending that much for the Sym's Racing Intake is because after getting a TRD intake and either the Max racing or 400~ dollar JDM intake duct you already will be spending almost as much as the Syms Intake. The Syms intake also allows you to also be used with any turbo that keeps the OEM air box like the AVO kit since it doesnt get in the way of the Intercooler. You spend 100-200~ more for the Syms and when you upgrade your car to an AVO kit you can only use the JDM air scoop and get rid of the TRD intake. Some of the most popular/best intakes for the s2000 are intake ducts/scoops. Like Jays Racing/Mugen/GruppeM Intake ducts that uses a seperate bumper with an opening or an air scoop by Spoon that attaches to the OEM air box.

Drop in filters are the best upgrade you can do for your intake for the cost. The OEM air box is already a great design so changing it to any other intake that isnt a CAI like the FA20club or Perrin will just soak in more hot air. Perrins CAI only adds as much as a drop in filter but I would only get it for the sound than performance. IMO the best two intakes for our cars if you ignore pricing is from Gruppe M and Sym's Racing. GruppeM has BEAUTIFUL intakes with IMO the best sound but they cost too much and wont be able to be used with FI in the future.

I'm referencing the throttle bodies he's referring to. Not the intake.

Finally got a hold of a TRD Intake. Installed it last night and updated my ecutek tune this morning. I feel the difference down low and it sounds better. No dyno although it did get me to 88 mph quickly for my flux capacitor. It is a bit pricey but it does knock a fair bit of the ugly out of the engine bay and definitely adds some power.

Just installed as well. Feel it on the butt dyno right away. Idle is more steady.

No longer have the artificial engine noise coming from the passenger side. Now sounds smooth and throaty throughout the power band. Cruising rpms is quieter which is nice since it is a real sound.

Install is clean. Engine room looks cleaner and stealth.

BRZ with TRD intake ftw!

Would anyone know if we can fit some type of FI with this intake?

Thanks!

Most likely not. Usually fi uses its own air inlet with a cap filter

There are a few FI systems that work with stock intake box, but none with the TRD intake due to the placement of the opening facing the throttle body.

Just bought this intake used and hope to install it soon... however, I noticed that I'm missing the little cap and grommet. So 2 question:

1) Recommendations on what I should cap the sound generator hole with? I *think* I've heard other people just finding stuff at a local hardware shop.

2) What's the grommet for? And any ideas from the folks that already installed it to what I may be use in place of it?

Installed mine Got it used.

I capped the hole with a random plug I had floating around. And the grommet is for one of the spots the airbox attaches to the front of the car.

First Impressions:

ITS SO QUIET!!!!!!!!! This is actually a good mod if you want to quiet your car down and make it more civilized, at least on the inside. Its also a good diagnostic tool, I can hear noises from the car I couldn't before, LOL!

The throttle response does seem a little better, but its hard to notice. The change in noise is enough to throw off your sense of the cars speed alone. But the larger air mass in the airbox does seem to make a difference.

I think this mod REALLY needs an improved snorkel up front for the full effect!
