This. I don't think these cars are as popular as we would like to think.

Here in Central NJ, they can't give them away at this point. Around October when I got mine, they'd laugh at you trying to find one. Now I've seen the same 3 for months on one dealers lot and 4 on another dealer lot.

It's the same here in north metro Atlanta. Cherokee County Toyota had the FR-S I now own since around September last year (I bought at the end of June). The other two they still have. I think I was the first to buy one from them?

When I bought my car there, it was the only one there. haha From Jackson, TN to Alamogordo, NM I still love this car more than anything else.
Edit: Realized this said GA. My fault. Oh well.

Question is, what's the AT:MT in-stock ratio.

I think the demographics in the area would also play a roll. I imagine they sell less in areas with large straight highways just like Subarus in general (4WD) sell well in northern climates.

I had to wait what felt like a year just for my dealership to receive one that wasn't pre-sold so I could test drive it. It was in December 2012, so however long that was. Now that same dealership always has about 3 of them at all times. I think there was a lot of hype and anticipation for this car by the people that know what's up - us. It finally came out, and all of our types were Black Friday-fighting each other over them until the majority of us got one. Now that the enthusiasts are all satisfied, it's up to just random ass people to buy them. The kind of people that say weird shit like, "what kind of gas mileage does it get?" It's all about the niche.

Some of you say the car isnt as popular as we thought..I think that depends on location or region also..Here in Southern Cali they still sale like no tomorrow. I drive past Toyota of Escondido (the flagship dealer) everyday and every so often they get about 3-5 FRS' and they will all be gone within a matter of days every single time...maaaayybe the automatic sits for an extra couple days but i still see more and more on the road monthly...this car is VERY popular here in san diego/los angeles...and theres still people who just cant afford them or buy them for whatever personal reasons they have like babies etc...hell theres people on this forum that still dont have one but want to buy one in the future

^I figured they'd be popular down here, with the import scene and all.
Though my dealer (Temecula) always has one parked up front. But I guess it doesnt help when they're always $3k above msrp .

I think the majority of people won't buy the fr-s due to being able to purchase a v6 mustang or camaro for a similiar price with more power. That coupled with dealers adding mark up to a non-rarity of a car doesn't help things. Oh well. I'm glad they aren't as common as mustangs, camaros, z's and challengers.
