My dealer always has about 6-7 in stock. This is only 20 minutes from Chicago as well.

I pass my local Toyota dealership and Subaru dealership just about everyday on my route to work, Subaru lot usually has one or two disappearing BRZs, Toyota dealership has a couple of FR-S.

Weird, the dealerships around where I live usually have one or none in stock. Maybe frs's just aren't as popular in the south

My dealer sells them fast as they come off the truck and they almost never have any FR-S's in stock.

when I went and got an oil change a month ago there were at least 8 in stock.... it seems the niche for this car isn't as huge as we thought

My local dealer has had 20 FRS (they appear to be the same ones) for the past three months...either they are bad salespeople, or its time for a $500 rebate...

I wonder how much it has to do with mark ups and such?

I deposit before release at a dealer 10 minutes from me but they were really sketchy and I was able to close a deal before they even gave me a price at another dealer. I got my car 2 hours out of state for MSRP on the first shipment. The car I had deposit on at the original dealer was on the lot for 6+ months, I stopped checking lol

^^This. Out of the three local dealers here, two are charging well over MSRP and have plenty in stock. The one local dealer that charges MSRP, never has more than 2-3 on its' lot.

The only other FR-S at my dealership was a Firestorm that the new owner had fitted with a TRD exhaust before taking delivery. They weren't marking them up at all. The Subaru dealership was a different story, but even with a $5k mark up they only had one on the lot.
