I'm a little tempted by the "quiet" 60mm set up but I have a 2&1/2 inch over and mid pipe. The thought of stepping down (slightly) in diameter doesn't appeal.

That's a CLEiB CF rear diffuser from JDM land. I ordered mine through Rajeet at Mastermind. I'm pretty sure it's the only one in the US at the moment.

No, it is a dual exit diffuser.

Yeah, I wish they made the 80mm version in 60mm instead. You think the 80mm would hurt the performance on my N/A setup?

Plan on getting the 60R version. Exactly what I've been looking for out of an exhaust.

BLUESLATE, that CLEiB diffuser is sick. Definitely has to be the only one in the states.

I'm wondering this as well, call me a ricer but I'd like a can like the 80 on the 60S. I don't mind the look of the 60, but if the performance isn't horrible I might go for the 80 instead.

You wont even notice a difference in performance. Sometimes sound/looks for slightly less power is worth it in the end. that 1-2 whp isnt going to be a big difference. No one is going to know in the end besides you unless you care about bragging rights that much. Id rather have a nice looking exhausts that sounds great as that will be the first impression people get of your car. And saying it is titanium sounds much more bad ass if you care about bragging rights.

In the end do it for your self but if you shouldnt care about the difference in power which wont even be noticed. The weight savings alone is worth it and it sounds and looks great. HP to weight ratio is just as important when you do performance upgrades.

I have a equivalent of the 80mm Race system on my WRX street car, and after 2 years I still love it and its holding up very well.

Best part about Ti systems is they will change sound/note as the system gets hot. Also over time the mid-pipe will start to dis-color to the blue/purple color.
This is what the test pipe on our shop EVO X looks like after a few thousand miles

So what parts of this cat back will turn purple in the future? Like everything on the cat back except the tip and muffler?

What you want is different to what I want.
I don't give a s**t what people think of my car. I don't care what it sounds like or looks like.
I am doing it for performance via weight saving. Any extra power would be a bonus but I do not want to decrease power on principle.

I must have missed the post with the sound clip. Comparing a similar system on a turbo car is not a valid comparison.
How about you do some research before you start acting like a bitch instead of being lazy and asking a stupid question then flaming me for answering it for you. If you even took the time to use the search function or read the forced induction section you would see MANY vendors of turbos even say the things I said regarding performance. If you have to ask such a dumb question in the first place it just shows what you know and how dumb you are. I was being nice and just giving you information that is common sense thats all over these forums in almost every exhaust/turbo threads it gets brought up.

If you dont care about the sound and sound/look like a ricer with your car then get a fucking test pipe/muffler delete and have it sound like shit. Otherwise dont bitch when people are giving their opinions on something that wasnt just directed to you. The way you even said what you said made it look like you cared more about power and never said a thing about weight savings til your last post. If your main goal is weight savings like you just said you shouldnt even of asked such a stupid question in the first place as it wouldnt even matter. As the answer to your idiotic question is all over the forums from vendors who sell turbos.

Point 1 You have made an objective statement with out evidence to back that up.
Point 2 You have made assumptions about what I want based on your personal preferences.
Point 3 Turbochargers have a muffling effect hence my statement that it wasn't am apple to apple comparison.
Really? You want evidence for information that is all over these forums? Tons of vendors have stated it in there threads in there FAQs regarding if you need a larger exhaust system.

Shit like this is COMMON KNOWLEDGE. If your going to ask a question then call me out because I didnt give you some proof that is common knowledge and been answered over 1000x times already. This stuff isnt rocket science and for someone who has been around these forums as long as you I find it very amusing that you dont even know the answers to a question like that when almost every exhaust and turbo topic has this question being answered. You want evidence? Get off your ass and find it yourself.

If you read my post then you would see I wasnt making any assumptions on what you wanted. I was giving you my own opinion on the subject and I even said that you should do what YOU WANT and to do it for your self. I said it RIGHT AFTER what you quoted me, but coming from someone who has as many posts as you and around these forums for this long asking such a dumb question about exhaust/turbos, I wouldn't expect someone like you to know how to read properly.

Like I said if you want evidence get off your lazy ass and find it your self because this is common knowledge you shouldnt ask something then demand evidence to such a retarded question.

The only thread I have found is this one but it was not discussing the theoretical effects of stepping down in any great detail.

As of right now the only systems that will include the silencer will be the 80mm Race system.

On a NA car with such small displacement as the BRZ/FRS you can see loss in low end tq due to the larger pipe size, so keep that in mind.

The hotter the system gets the farther the heat will travel from the mating of the frontward section of the exhaust back.
Hypothetically it would be possible to have the entire system change color if you got it hot enough. For instance that is how they get the blue/purple on the systems, heat treatment. So by getting the exhaust super hot you will educe your own heat treatment on it and change its color.
