Hi DD,
What is the best way to store an applicator pad after I've waxed my car?

I just got an frs with a clear bra. When I wax and/or polish should I go over the clear bra also or just the paint?

Last minute question, I'm going to wax for the first time tomorrow. Should I use dish detergent to strip the wax off if there is one before waxing my first time? I don't know what's on there currently and at first I was planning to use dish soap to strip it but I really don't want to dry out the rubber or anything on the car so I was just planning to wash with ONR -> Clay Bar -> ONR again -> then wax and seal it.
But since it's unknown if there's wax or anything at all should I wash with dish soap first? There are a lot of mixed answers about using dish washing liquid or not. Using blackfire's wet ice over fire kit btw. Last edited by uEih; 08-08-2013 at 03:39 AM. |

Thanks! Is it normal for the wax and pad to generate quite a bit of static on the plastic parts? Headlights/Taillights.
When I did those parts I could hear the static building up. Also another thing, there seem to be some things stuck on it, should I wait a few days before wiping it off with some water? Are swirl marks inevitable even with a wax? I thought a waxjob would cover up most of it but it seems like there are still quite a bit there. Last edited by uEih; 08-09-2013 at 02:06 PM. |

I had a big sploch or bird crap fall onto my hood. I removied it and cleaned and clayed but I can still see the outline of the sploch from certain light angles? Im under the assumption that chemicals in the dropping ate away a tiny bit of the clear coat and polishing is the only way to get it out. Any other ideas/suggestions?

Also someone dinged my door :@. It didnt damage the paint surface but did dent it so I am thiking of getting it "popped" out. When researching this it seems there is a variety of techniques that can be used so I'd like to do it with a professional. Even still are there particular questions I should ask to see if they have expericne in what they are doing? An example is people just using a suction cup that could still leave the paint surface distorted as compared to someone who uses an "in and out" method progressivly alternating pushing down the edges and pushing up the middle.
