The larger displacement is most appealing to me.. I always thought a bore and stroke on the current engine would be preferable to an aftermarket turbo system but maybe that's just me. Then again I don't know a whole lot about the cost of doing such a thing on our engines. Off to do some reading on that I guess, lol.

meh I'll stick with this current model. As Far as I know most people like this model as is

I can't wait another 1-2 years.

If I had to, then I'd just save up for the MKV Supra instead (if they call it that)

Obviously not. To keep the dimensions square would be about 92x92=2.45L

Thanks I knew that but have been out of school too long to remember how to do the math.

Assuming it stays N/A but bumped to ~2.5L and equal bore & stroke ... speculation on what this will be called:

GT86 --> GT92 ?
FR-S --> FR-S TRD ?
BRZ --> BRZ STI ?

As an aside, did anyone notice that the first 3 letters of the website are "smh"?

Sure it's Sydney Morning Herald, but in internet lingo "smh" means Some Morons Here.

Either way I don't believe anything that was stated in that article will happen before 2017 (based on the source).

I thought it meant "so much hate" but we're both wrong.

I think it is silly to think that they will never give the car more power. It is bound to happen as it does with all cars.

Subaru's model life span is 6 years. They do an upgrade every two MY. Best example is the first WRX. 2002 it was the 2.0L Bugeye. 2004 came the pig snout. 2006 came the crossed eye. 2008 New model

So expect a refresh for the 2015 MY. Maybe more power new headlights, tail lights. etc.

I think the capacitor based hybrid will happen sooner later. It is part of Toyota's DNA and its stated objective to hybridize something in every model category. Plus FE legiation will drive these sort of solutions!

In true Toyota fashion, just offer both; a NA and a twin charged version.

As does more features, more weight, bigger size and much bigger price tag. I hope this car bucks the trend and avoids all of those.

I would rather see them lose 200LBs and bring it in at 2500LBs as was originally planned. Then if would be quicker, faster AND handle even better.
