Or you can open up the manual and read what to do
Might be a bit annoying though, since your alarm might be going off after opening the car with a mechanical key.

Well, a one minute google search or sifting through the owner's manual seemed like a no brainer given the circumstances, but I applaud you for (seemingly) haven gone through your owner's manual. Which reminds me, I should probably put that back in my glovebox.

Bought a premium with a key so I don't have to worry about keyless start and alcantara maintenance

But I did spend the extra for the spoiler

tl;dr keyless ignition/bluetooth key is decently waterproof

Did you notice that the battery is no where to be found???

I opened mine when I got the car just to see what kind of battery it takes and although the manual show a battery, I could not find it! (was unable to remove the other side)

Happend to me 2 months ago (on my 08 landcruiser keyless fob) I went jet skiing and I totally forgot to put it in the water proof case... I was shocked when it was totally wet, but was surprised that nothing happened and till now it works perfectly

Btw, its the same design as the brz fob

The battery is on the other side, just pop the other side out. This is also how I tested the dead fob starting technique by starting the car without the fob battery, worked just like manual said it would. Pretty cool nonetheless.

Looks and sounds like the water proofing worked swimmingly... Yeah, horrible joke but had to post it.

I did this with my Altima years ago. Almost crapped my pants when my car started.

Glad to know the BRZ has a good key for forgetful people like me!

Not quite. You should be thanking Denso engineers, that's who really designed it.
