I've been wanting the rex speed mirrors, but i need the heated function intact so i havent pulled the trigger yet.

i found these: ebay mirrors

anyone have luck or tried them? im not crazy about the LED's but it does say it keeps the heated function.

The FR-S has heated mirrors in the USA or just Canada? I am pretty sure mine doesn't have them and I'm in Florida.

Could you double check? It was my understanding that the Canadian FR-S had heated mirrors, all weather mats and all-season touring tires standard.

I was researching how the OEM seat heaters worked I discovered that the relay for the Heated mirrors were missing in the US...

This is the wiring diagram to the 2013 BRZ:

This is the Relay/Fuse block in the BRZ's engine compartment for the Heated Mirrors (note: Relay&Fuse Present)

This is the same Relay/Fuse Block in the US spec FR-S (note: Relay missing, Fuse Present)

...if you have that relay, you should have heated mirrors. Look into it and and let us know

Get the Prova branded overlay mirrors from Rallysportdirect. The heated mirror part will still work if you tape it well enough for the heat to transfer through the tape. I haven't seen winter or cold weather with them yet but it supposedly still heats up with the overlays.

got those mirrors from Ebay, will try them out tomorrow.

Do I just pop it off like the Rexpeed video instructions, or is there a special technique to remove the heated element prongs first ?

thanks

Also from Canada and definately have heated mirrors. It turns on when you turn on the rear window defroster. Don't have all season tires though.

I checked the Rallysportdirect website.

It wrote" A note of importance. Prova Mirrors are made for the JDM Subaru models which come with Convex mirrors from the factory. USDM Models do not come with Convex mirrors. The supplied pre-applied double sided tape may not be adequate to properly mount the mirrors to your vehicle. Extra double sided tape is recommended(and not included) to take up the gap in-between the Convex Prova mirror and the stock flat mirror. Failure to use proper mounting may result in the mirror becoming disconnected from the vehicle and could result in damage that is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. "

Is there any mounting issue?

Thanks a lot.

I didn't have any issues but I picked up some extra 3m double sided outdoor tape and put an extra layer on it to make sure the middle convex area would make contact with the existing mirror.

received them

Only problem, is that I took at look at the Canadian BRZ mirror configuration and it seems like our mirrors are held in by screws, not just the clips like the USA configuration. Is anyone able to confirm this ? or has removed their Canadian side mirrors successfully ?

thanks
