Wait for the Camaro to be revamped, then get an SS.

Blindspot city.

Don't get a Ford unless you enjoy sitting on the shoulder on highways. (Only exception is the new F-150)

In all seriousness, though, in your situation I wouldn't let where I work determine what car I get. That said, if you are that concerned with your coworkers reactions, get the Camaro, even if it may be the lesser car in your opinion (at least thats what I am reading)
I'm not concerned with coworkers reactions.

Its like this...kinda.

I want an FR-S, but it's more expensive.
I like the Camaro, and its a lot cheaper.

I just can't make up my mind, both great cars I like one more than the other but does the extra cost justify it.

There's your answer right there: get the FR-S.

Life's too short man...you're young, have a good job, get the car you WANT, not the car that is CHEAPER.

Move out of your parents house before you buy a new car.

You also can factor in fuel milage. Both claim fairly high numbers HWY, but at least as far as the twins go, they are showing combined MPG averaging about 30 MPG. Last I checked, the V6 Camaro only gets near that number on the highway.

Then again, the twins require premium, and the Camaro only uses regular...so its probably a moot point anyways.

22 years old with loans and living at home?

In the following order:
1. Pay off your loans
2. Move out
3. Buy a car after you know how much leftover disposable income you have.
4. Buy something below your means in case you lose your job.

Unless of course, you want to live home forever!

Kids these days...

lol, such an old saying. Ford actually beat out toyota for reliabilty in recent years, but I digress

OP, what are the options of getting your finances under control (ie moving out of your parents house and paying off some of your student loans), then getting the new car. Or wait a year or so until you can get a used "FRZ?"

If you are torn on both, and you MUST have your new car, I would look at overall care cost...gas mileage, price to maintain ect and make the decison based on that. Being young, and just starting a career, you want to keep things cheap. You have plenty of time to get the fun, stupid, irresponsible car later on in life

lol, I drove a $900 84 Mustang 5.0 for 10 years before I bought a newer car! The freedom of getting out of your parents house is WELL WORTH driving a POS car for a couple years

Guys, he didn't ask for your opinion about his living situation. You have no idea what his situation is. So kindly GTFO.

I've always thought of muscle cars to be V8's and not V6's.... go with the FRS

Yea you may save abit of coin, but at the end of the day you'd still drive a V6 Camaro. Get the car you want. Find a cheaper lightly used one maybe?

Just remember, it's easier to bolt on lots of fun power (FI, e85, tires, etc) than it is to cut tons of weight and change weight distribution.

This would be a really tough call for me, but having a fun project car like the BRZ that I can develop a little bit stronger tweaking, tuning, and tracking relationship with might edge me towards the twins.

That's funny....

I thought they were going to reduce the size of the Mustang and Camaro since they are too big.

Am I wrong?

As an GM engineer you should know that they plan on reducing the size.

Samller size = bettter power weight ratio + better gas milage.

I am excited to see thes cars being down sized.
