Maybe driving doesn't impress him. Beautiful cars do.

What's with the whole "impress others thing" ? An American thing?

Mods impress under aged high school girls, its very rare to see something original when everything's been done already.

Why do we mod our cars? To make them better, to enjoy them ourselves. If you mod your car just to get looked at in a Walmart parking lot by two fat chicks, then go ahead live that life. But that's a hallow path you're walking.

If he bought this car for looks, then that's a whole other problem.

I speak for everyone now? Sweet, when did i get elected for FT86 forum speaker?

Ryme, by looking I know you care about it. I bought the car cause of the suspension, yes the brand, how it handles, the overall performance in price bracket.

Your posts prove you are just as bad as the posters you are talking about. Just because they didn't buy their cars for the same reason you did, doesn't make you better than them.

Although, your post history and custom title also prove that this conversation isn't going anywhere. You are so full of yourself that you don't have the ability to see anything else.

You're right, we are all wrong.

If customization didn't impress people, then there wouldn't be any car shows. But there are. Lots of them. That's also why we have a whole section devoted to build threads. Not every mod in the build threads are about performance.

I don't care one way or the other. My car is still stock. I'm just seeing it from others perspective.

Nah...it's a United States kinda thing. The rest of the American continents don't have that issue.

You came through as impressing is the motive for people modding and building cars. I would say it's simply a by-product, and the motive is people's own dedication and time for the hobby. I guess some people mod to get some kind of cred. but that's kind of lame in my book.

Completely missed the point of my post. I mod cars because I like my vehicle to look the way I want it to. But I still look at other vehicles and think "wow, those mods look really good together. That's a sexy car!". Call it appreciation, call it impressed. It's the same thing.
I don't need other people's approval for my stuff, but I don't mind telling someone else they have a cool ride.

I haven't washed my car in over 3 months.... and I have a raven.

I love the car to death, but it's not easy when you don't have access to a garage or open driveway and need to wait for when it's not sunny out. That plus the crazy weather NYC's been getting this summer where it's thunder-storming every 3 days makes it kinda pointless for me to wash it that one cloudy day.

I drive almost 100 miles a day for work so right after washing it, it comes back full of dust, pollen, and bugs.

I just did get some ONR though so hopefully that will make things a little easier.

But for now I just tell people it's an asphalt
