I'm not advocating dirty cars nor am I making excuses for the guy, but a layer of dirt on the exterior doesn't affect driving dynamics in any way; you can't see that dirt when you're driving! Some people just want to drive and really don't care how their car looks. But I wonder how dirty it was on the inside..?

I wash my car at least once a week--usually twice--but I work at a dealership, so I have access to a full industrial wash bay with pressure washers and the full suite of P&S detailing chemicals. A dirty car makes me grimace, but I understand that some people's life and work situation make it difficult to keep your car regularly clean. Sucks for them, I guess

It looked like he hadn't washed it in months and from what I saw of the inside he treats the car like his personal trash can

My BRZ gets dirty mostly because I don't live in a house and have access to a garage. However, yes it is a shame that people let cars get dirty and abused. But that's the thing, its not YOUR car, just worry about your own and all is well. As long as my baby is taken care of, its not my place to judge other people especially considering the majority of general consumers don't know a lick or two on how to properly take care of a vehicle's appearance. That's just the nature of it.

Dude, I hope you realise that this is not a **** measuring contest, we get it, the car is dirty, what does your tint and other cosmetic mods have to do with the fact that he has a dirty car? If you want to show off your car, there's an appropriate place to make a thread about that. This post succeeded in making you seem like an arrogant and conceited individual.

and what's "shacking" your head?

Jin- my worst car was a 97 ford contour that I washed twice a week. Yes that's crazy. It just disappointed me that the car could be that dirty. I agree mods don't matter since I know some foreign markets are adm their cars but maybe every once in awhile wash the car. For me I still have no eating in car rule. I don't know if ill ever allow that.

Maybe he lives several miles down a dirt road. Arkansas? Not impossible.

I never understood why people get on a high horse about washing their car. For those of us that do not own a house you need to pay for a car wash every time, for a half decent touch free wash it will be $10-12, or $40-50 a month.
Some people don't have the extra, and others like myself do not have the time, and/or would rather spend the money elsewhere.

Even if I had my own house to wash my car at, I do not think I would spend 30min-1hr every Saturday hand washing my car, I would rather be driving it. I do keep the interior of my car very clean, but the outside I go through a drive through wash about once a month, and use water-free wash for bird bombs that happens between.
Friends of mine work in construction, no point in even trying to keep their car clean, the job site will get it dusty in a matter of minutes.

In conclusion, there are many reasons that people do not keep their car clean enough to eat off of at all times, don't be judging just because they have different priorities then you.

Your new car romance will only last so long. At the end of the day it's just an appliance.

The amount of dirt on this is unacceptable.... The only reasonable choice now would be to burn it out of shame and destroy the evidence

Mods don't impress, people knowing how to drive do.

This topic is foolish, making assumptions and judgement on someone you never met.
This comment is ignorant. Maybe mods don't impress YOU, but they do impress some people. That's why they do them.

You berate him for "making assumptions and judgment on someone you never met", yet you do the same thing to him.

Maybe driving doesn't impress him. Beautiful cars do.

YOU aren't everyone. Don't speak for the rest of us.

The shame is judging other people's car and choice, some people live in appartments and it's quite a chore to keep up the good looks. It's a car and meant to be driven! Look at my car! LOOK AT IT IT'S DURRTY!!!
