Best tires for the stock wheels?

BTW I should be more clear about the specificity that determines "best" tire. I went with PSS for the reasons mentioned above. I'm planning on keeping on getting an extra set of wheels with the Primacy HP to stay true to the 86's OG dynamic: to let it slide.

My OEM tires, being not so sticky, facilitates the tail happiness without significantly reducing the tread...since their not sticky in the first place. So IMO, for staying true to 86, OEM setup is perfect.

With that thinking in mind. 215/40 or 205/40 are even better.

Lower profile, less profile 'mush'.

They're the lightest 17" tyre size. All this talk of lightweight wheels, yet guys put on heavy/meaty tyres. Light wheel/tyre combo, better handling, steering, braking.

You can get them in an entire range of grip levels, from semi slicks to snow tyres.

They have a smaller overall diameter than stock, so effectivly shorten your gearing.

They're cheaper.

If you like driving the car more than looking at it, then consider going this way.

205/40/17 Achilles 123S are about 17lbs, and don't suffer from anything you mention above.

They're also have more grip than anything mentioned in this thread.

They only last about 8000kms or so though. But you can only have grip or mileage at the end of the day.

You might find a tyre that can give a better compromise, slightly less grip for more mileage, but it'll probably cost 2x or 3x more than the 123S.

They are putting those on 17x9s, not stock wheels.
