I'm glad you are keeping us all updated on this. it sucks that maybe Helix gave false info or maybe there was a misscommunication somewhere but I give you the benefit of the doubt here and hope things will be made right. If these are going to be 299 hell yeah and hopefully we can get some final pictures sooner rather than later. My helix side markers are great quality and I don't expect anything less from these even though they are "replica" TOM's and not official I'm still onboard until we find out the price and what they will actually look like.

I will concede that $500 for knock-offs is a bit much. The main reason I like these is because they're not pre-tinted red like the TOM'S. I ain't mad atcha, though. They're all the same to me: Rice. hahaha

I called Jerry from TOM's as well and spoke to him about this. He says the only official USDM TOM's are the ones in red housing with the TOM's stamp. Jerry told me that only Depo is manufacturing the TOM's and not Helix. He says they will be getting ones with clear housing later on, but to call him back in a couple of weeks for more information on them. The dealers selling the official TOM's should be getting these but not until later on when they actually come out.

I was in disbelief. You've pretty much told me all I need to know. I appreciate the heads up. I would totally just get the regular TOM'S right now since I don't care about legality. I just really like the way these ones look, though. I can paint them red myself or go to a smoked look if I wanted to without having red overlay on it already.

But if TOM'S is making their own, I wonder how Helix can get away with making these? Aren't there legal ramifications?

Man I think this thread just needs an official photo from helix so everyone can make a informed decision.

I don't think anyone wants to be out 300$ just to find out they do not want this one month later

And if TOM'S is making them then it won't make the production run so limited, so I'm in even less of a hurry to buy these now. Money would be better spent on other projects for the BRZ.

lol You're right, which is why I like them. I just meant it as a play on "JDM aftermarket lighting effects". Non-JDM guys call everything "rice" when you cosmetically switch up the car from stock.

I agree. Even if the product does turn out to be an authentic TOM'S product, I'm just not interested in purchasing it over the normal red version anymore...

At this point, info is still limited and but i will try to update the best way i can.

I am the only HELIX distributor for the FRS/BRZ/86 Platform and i have full confidence with them regarding this lights.

Their JDM style side markers has been a hit here in the forums and i believe these will be as well

You NEED to update your thread title and REMOVE "USDM TOM'S Special Edition Tail Lights" from it.

That is called fraud. They have already been proven to NOT be TOM's tail lights but knockoffs. If no action is taken on this, it will be escalated to higher authority.

It has already been researched and learned that DEPO is the official manufacturer for TOM's lights, not Helix.

Add a note of this in the OP.

Finally, anyone that requests a full refund for their money should ask for it and get it promptly, as the Original intent of the thread was not accurate.
