Not a huge amount personally, but the hundreds of powertrain engineers on this floor with their hundreds of dyno cells downstairs kind of gave me a hint.

Hey check out this Hot Version video. At the end (around 30:20) it shows that the direct injectors were burnt out for one of their modded cars. This video I believe was released last year.

This issue wont exhibit under dyno pulls, unless you're doing simulations.

This is one of the questions I wanted to get answered.

You can see in that video they lost two seals. When we pulled the DI on our car we had two seals backed off one on each bank.

Two were "normal".
Need to understand why.

Additional data point.

One on each bank of our engine was more severely damaged than the other.

I saw that vid awhile back and didn't think much of it cuz I couldn't understand what they were saying. Then I saw your youtube vid. I actually joined this site to post this vid. Hopefully we can get some answers soon.

Now I'm curious who you work for... PM if you'd rather not say publicly

Even Honda Racing only has 4 dyno cells...

A car manufacturer. It doesn't matter which one.

Front injectors or the rear ones? I wonder if there is some correlation here between your failures and some others that have happened.

Noticed something last week-end, I just want to know if it's related to this issue or not.

When driving around town, if I short shift "aggressively" around 3500-4000 from 2-3 then 3-4. I can make it ping 90% of the time and it would ping from the moment I would start giving it gas as the clutch starts to grab again until the clutch is fully depressed. Does not last long but it was loud enough even my wife noticed.

I talked to my dealer about it and he has no clue, "first time I hear this" he says... like everything else.

Does this sound like the same issue described here?

No, but it does happen. Try not to slip the clutch during shifts.

Just drive it like grandma in her Subaru and you'll be fine.
