In fact, community talk and hype is what helps bring in cars like the GT-R, EVO, WRX, and STI. Remember when the North American community was lusting over those cars from across pond but we couldn't get in the 90's and 00's? Granted, not all of the cool cars will come over and especially not this one but it does tell the manufacturers a rough idea of what the market is looking for.

I understand what you mean. They are two different vehicles (the tS and STi)

But I would like to argue that they are both still sti cars despite their features and performance. Subaru Technica International is subaru's in-house tuning company. They exist to improve on subaru's vehicles. That doesn't always mean HP,turbocharging, etc. There are alot of people who like or are satisfied with 200hp. There are people who are not and I'm sure there will be an sti with an HP increase in the near future (The Tokyo Auto Show is right around the corner). However don't expect a turbocharger. STI has been on record, multiple times as saying they have no plans on adding one but there is more HP to have out of the FA engine.

All that said. I was simply saying that even though there are differences between sti, spec-C, tS, etc. They are all still sti cars.

I'm just waiting for the car to be fully produced so that the parts can come pouring out. Just give up the fender garnish with the STI logo and we'll call it a worthwhile investment.

Why? Because there's no turbo? No increase in power? Are we now saying that the only way to make a car "better" is to add more hp? From what I see, this car is special in the sense that they are offering a further improved suspension setup to make what this car was all about in the first place: handling. You also add the body kit, wheels, bbk, recaros, and most likely a slew of chassis stiffening components not listed and I'd say this car is a step above the stock BRZ.

This is all you're ever going to hear from everyone. They'll pay more for the headaches of turbocharging, but refuse to see the benefits of a car that handles even better than before and looks cooler to boot. This is why Japan rocks. It's not all about power. That's Murica.

You guys know you hate the look of the stock floating calipers.

May be that is the reason why it comes with the N/A version only and gives other the flexibility to do the FI mod.

I don't think the other way around works. Removing the factory turbo/SC of a vehicle and make it as a NA car without swapping it to another high displacement NA engine? I doubt true enthusiasts would do that.

Anyways, I don't want to start the argument. What I meant is, the way they do it now give the flexibility for everyone.

NA fans, keep it as NA
FI fans, can add on FI themselves

Cheers!

Those brakes ARE delicious. IIRC, they're about $5K a pair if you order the P/N from Japan (if those are the R205 6 pots); however, those LOOK like Brembo 4 pots.

Cheaper to get the TRD monobloc ones... and repaint them to say "STI".

What does the BRZ Limited (or equivalent) go for in Japan in USD? Trying to understand how much the $41k price increase really is. I saw $35k posted here, is that right?

I hope the STI version stays NA.

TRD monoblocs are $10K/pair. STI R205 were about $5K pair. How's that cheaper bro?

Most of us want a FI solution from the factory so we don't screw ourselves out of the warranty.
