The prices that we pay in the US are never a direct translation of the price in Japan. Between 35k USD and 40k USD in the Japanese market, it's only an additional 5k for Japanese consumers for a bunch of STI parts not to mention a redesigned interior. Though it won't be coming to the US market, if it was, it would definitely be priced closer to 32k to 33k, which would be about the same 5k difference versus a USDM Limited model. And that's assuming they would even charge the same amount here as in Japan.

Who else paid 700$ for that piece of plastic rear diffuser and 100$ for the chrome fender trim? I'm sure 5k is worth all those additional parts even minus a turbo.
Yup, exactly what crossed my mind when I saw the first comment that criticized the price. Just was too lazy/no point for me to articulate on it since the US won't even be getting the tS.

Yes, but what's the use in bitching about what the exclusive JDM models include? We're not getting them. Everyone bitching about price has no understanding of how overseas economies work. You can't just convert the price to US...it doesn't work like that.

Just really, all of you stop complaining about something that has no consequence for you.

The objective of a "tS" model is much different than that of an "STi". For example, compare a WRX STi tS to a WRX STi.

**If you already knew all this, then stop splitting hairs, you know what he meant by "real sti" ;-)

Yeah, people fail to realize that "STI" doesn't mean "Subaru Turbocharged International". STI has used the "tS" name to update everything but the engine on the newer models. I think because of the BRZ they're focusing even more on suspension and such than they did before.

Cars can only go so fast, so it seems more productive to make the handling better to utilize the speed and power that's already available. If you guys still aren't making people's eyes pop out of their heads with your stock BRZ then you're shift technique needs adjustment, not the car.

You'd be waiting a LONG time for the STI version "IF" there ever is going to be one stateside. The 2014 model will only have minor upgrades. Just enjoy your car. Did you order the new 10 series?

I agree. People on here always seem to want to put whatever the exchange rate is on something and say that is how much it would cost but the exchange rate doesn't work for comparing markets at all.

The main article linked is the first I've heard of facelift changes to the BRZ for 2014MY. SOA (Subaru of America) Blog on NASIOC News & Rumors forum said that the BRZ would "remain unchanged for two model years."

So now can I say I told you so?

This is just what I and others like @switchlanez have been saying for over a year now. I like everything about the Ts. The only part that's makin me really butt hurt is the Recaro's.

I've already got my fog lights, fender trim, suspension, wheels, brakes, spoiler, etc..

Now what I wanna work out is the seats and what is the steering wheel button for?

You can say that again! The seats are the most appealing thing to me in that package.:happy0180:

I'm not seeing any pics of the Recaros?

Edit: I guess they're already existent in the WRX STI tS or type-RA or S203 or Spec-C or whatever. I thought they'd be unique to the BRZ.
