I would imagine that we start with the 91 and then "drive in circles" till we fill up a bit on E85. IF Toni is there to explain the on the fly setup I might do that. We will see.

Your ecu is capable of holding 4 maps. They can be switched in the fly without having to have a laptop everywhere you go. Here is an example of what you can have.

Map1 pumpgas
Map2 pumpgas with racerom features
Map3 e85
Map4 e85 with racerom features

The one limitation I dont think any of the tuners have been able to figure out is the ecu will forget what map your on when you shut off your car. You just need to make sure to change maps based on the fuel you are running.

How do you know what map you are on currently?

Thats gonna be a bunch of circles . When my fuel light comes on I still drive another 30 miles to get low enough. If I fill up on e85 from pump when the light comes on I get around e70 as I recall.

When you hold the cruise control in the tachometer will go to the number indicating what map you are on. You can then toggle up or down to switch the pull in again to select. There are a couple videos on youtube. Look for ecutek frs map switching.

It might be but its the same concept as far as on the fly switching right?

I thought Flex Fuel was not having to worry about switching maps at all???

Not sure if fa20 has multiple maps on his flex fuel. That would be cool. Its currently not something I have on mine. Having my racerom features back would be nice.

Flex fuel is not to get rid of maps but to get the specific ethanol content of the fuel. Its just so the tune is 100% calibrated for the gas you are running 100% of the time.

Without it then your tune may be e85 but your running e68 or e72. It does make a difference as far as power goes.

Dont want to hog the thread. Can meet up if you want to know more details.

@Sivtec I'll be going to the phoenix region coffee meet on tuesday to pickup deposits from a few people, so if your confused swing by there and we can all join in and explain how it works, and i can show you how map switching works, as well as changing full ROM's over (say from E10(91oct) to E85).

Could hit up the other forum too. There are a bunch of members on the west side that are rumored to be on the other forum.
