Me too, I thought for awhile it was an exhaust leak. But it sounds kind of like a turbo whining up around 3k RPM.

It sounds like a toy supercharger under the hood.

I thought it was the drop in air filter I put in, or maybe an air leak. I searched a few times for an air leak, making sure every thing was seated properly. And of course I tried going back to the stock air filter. It never even crossed my mind that it was the pulley.

Tom, what was the result of this?

If the Gator Back belt works, how would you feel about sourcing then and selling them to those of us with the issue, at cost? I can't expect you to take a loss, the pulley works as advertised, but it would be nice to have the noise gone.

It doesn't sound bad. It makes your car sound like it can be very fast if someone hears you just driving by. Unfortunately it's not fast so I'd rather not hear it.

Sorry guys, we had the shop closed most of the week for moms 75th birthday. Go moms!
I threw a few random pulleys off the production line on the scope and they are all right in spec with the OEM grooves. I think the noise might be caused by the solid face on the pulley having air whizzing by the snout.
my solution, throw an innovate kit on there like i did.

Hhhmmm...maybe exhaust will cover it up but it's more like stereo alternator whine so I'm not as thrilled as others here.

I love the whine sounds like a small supercharger makes the car sound that much better its no issue so who cares this is a sports car not a luxury sedan that's supposed to be Silent! If its too loud your too old!

I heard a similar pulley/belt whine on my uncle's mx5. It does not sound fun or cool. It doesn't really matter if it occurs on a entry level sports car or a luxury sedan. If it's irritating, it's irritating
