Don't like red.
And white is way too common a colour. On the flip side white always looks good and matches with everything. Same with black. Grey and Silver are boring as **** (silver moreso than grey IMO). Blue is a nice colour, but doesn't work on some cars. If you want something truly different, hot lava is the way to go. |

Firestorm is great when it's clean and polished, when it's dirty it just looks dull. Not having metalflake means it shows every flaw, scratch, swirl, etc., unless it's carefully maintained. IMO, the interior treatment with red stitching and accents goes best with Firestorm as well.
To me there are only two colors for sports cars, red and yellow, so you know what I have. And I have two in red, the MX-5 and my FR-S. Never get a second look from law enforcement. And I don't drive like grandma either. There are a lot of other makes / models around here in red so it's not a rarity that jumps out at them. Around here they mostly go for soccer Moms in SUVs! Knowing some of them, they're probably trolling for some action...

I have seen almost every color now in person and I know I'm biased but whiteout is the nicest in my opinion. They did a great job with the white paint job, it makes all the lines pop and speak for themselves. It also reminds me of the Toyota 2000GT in white which is always a huge plus.
All in all the white just classes it up and most people think it's worth a lot more than it actually is. I also like how the white contrasts with the black and red interior. My previous car was red and I just got tired of it. Way too flamboyant and they are police magnets. It's just overplayed with sports cars and should only be on Ferraris IMO lol. In the end though just choose the color that you prefer. Try and see the whiteout in person and the firestorm and make your choice from there. |

I chose the firestorm red, but I really like the white out also. White is such a clean color. Problem ... here in Arizona .... white cars are EVERYWHERE. The color white is just too common. In the end .... can't go wrong with either choice. They both look good.

Whiteout and Firestorm in drift action here:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CStAf5jAk2A"]New Toyota 86 Drift Video - YouTube[/ame] Personally I had never considered red, had a World Rally Blue on order arriving in 2 weeks, and then a red one came in stock at a local dealer, I went to look at it and fell in love with the red, looks much better in person than in pictures, took it for a test drive and the rest is history... No regrets here and I haven't noticed any unusual police attention, I recommend buying the color that makes your funny parts tingle, screw what everyone else thinks. |

In person the red just does not suit the Japanese design this car has - red is best suited to something Italian (Alfa, Ferrari).

[QUOTE=DarkSunrise;1102683]Here's a pic to confuse you more.

Best picture of a red and white side-by-side I could find at the time. Not my pic, don't shoot the messenger.

The way the red paint looks there reminds me of a liquid-metal type premium paint you could apply to a car in one of the Need For Speed titles - looked incredible.

Yeah it does look like it has more of a glossy/deep look there.

I ordered mine in whiteout (or rather - our local equivalent).
Other colours I considered where Tarmac, Raven and Ultramarine. The three colours I really disliked were: Silver (the lighter shade) - It's like every second Polo. Practical, but just SO uneventful. Lava - it looks good int he sun, but in the shade it looks too brown and to me actually masks some of the tasteful lines of the car when in the shade. It's also a harder colour to live with, since it needs to be clean to look good. Firestorm - Japanese cars shouldn't be red... I looked at it a few times, and just didn't like it at all. That all said - I think the nicest colour is Subaru's WRX Blue |

It's a great color, but it's a color you have to CARE for. I can't count the amount of red cars with faded paint I've seen and that looks like ASS. Pick a color that's resistant to fading. Red isn't one of them.
