II honestly could not believe the quality of the hood when it came! As you say the quality of the weave is so amazing. I don't understand how they get them so straight! I've seen almost every single carbon fiber hood or panel is crooked for some reason! I actually saw a scion earlier with a carbon trunk and it looked hideous.

Can anyone tell me if it would be counterintuitive if I got dry carbon fiber parts then color matched them to my car?

Ah, sorry you mean it's worth painting dry carbon, the added weight is still significantly less than OEM aluminum. Yet since wet carbon is barely lighter, the weight of the paint would make it useless.
