True. But if I leave those points on my license, my insurance will inevitably go up. I can always elect to take a 4 hour online defensive driving class and no points on my license. But at least it's a 50/50 shot of my insurance rising.

From my own personal experience (in another state). The address change sometimes is viewed as a fix it ticket (state dependant). If you fix it right away and show proof sometimes that ticket will be waived. I've also had a judge throw the ticket out due to improperly filed tickets. If you show proof that the car was purchased after 3/13/13 and therefore couldn't have been driving, you can also get that ticket dropped (judge dependant).

That's what they tell you but you don't have to. I used to live in Cali as of a few months ago and one of the last things I did was go to court for a traffic ticket. I paid and all like they told me to see the judge and there where a lot of people there that had not paid and were still in front of the judge fighting their ticket.

One of them had not paid and got their ticket dismissed due to wrong date.

I wouldn't even bother with the officer. I would just go to court to see the judge and have it dismissed.
