You should ask a lawyer what to do since they know the correct answer.

I did. They informed me I can take it to court and dispute it if I'd like or I can just pay it. But my license is not suspended. They would charge $150 each ticket. If I lose, I'd pay $150 + my ticket per ticket but no points. If I'd win then I'd pay $150 only per ticket.

Since my tickets are only $114 and $164, I see the most convenient way is to just go to traffic school and pay the tickets myself.

Well and you did do the crime and learned a lesson along the way. Seems like you are doing the right thing.

I think most areas have tried to rectify that. Most PD's in Canada require their officers to show now. 10 years ago I got out of everything that way, but those days are gone. Especially now that I only deal with the RCMP... fuckers.

Damn that's cheap. The MINIMUM speeding ticket here (runs from 1-15 km over) is $224. I'd just pay those depending on how it will affect your insurance rates.

Time to invest in a helmet and some autocross.

I had a license suspended once, was going 30 on a 15. Not fun, it effects you in a weird way to. The worst part isn't losing your license, but the 6 month probation period; if you get any type of ticket, then your license is suspend for 6 months. Felt like a fucking prisoner driving those 6 months, went into some deep depression during those days.

Heh...and people wonder why i wanna move out of NY.

As stated, written declarations are the way to go. Cops almost always show up and almost always win. I have never won in court but I have never lost a written declaration and I've done twelve total for other people.

If you pay the ticket without going to court, you are admitting guilt and your insurance can go up. If you go to court (or do trial by declaration), you can get it reduced/dropped/or ask for traffic school/Probation before Justice (if your record is clean).

I'm just gonna take a 4 hour class to drop the points and pay the ticket. Insurance shouldnt go up then.

If that's a thing you can do in Florida, then go for it. Seems like your easiest option.

Here you have to go to court and and convince the judge to do probation before justice (which is basically just traffic court and paying tickets). I don't believe there's a way to just take a class to drop points...that I know of.

In New York you can take a defensive driving class which takes 4 points off your license, if you are wondering if there are such thing are classes that take away points...
