feeling a sway on the rear end
hi guys, im a new owner of frs and a car virgin. i have an issue with it. on the freeway doing 70-75 i could feel a "sway" on the rear end. is it the road being uneven or is there something wrong with the frs? everything is stock. hope someone could shed some input, thank you.

the car is really light and comes with shitty tires. it gets worse with uneven pavement.
what did you drive before the frs?

I think the spoiler helps the car... I have the Scion spoiler and have taken the car up to a buck five and it's planted... even on crappy roads... that said... any steering input and you'll feel it... even if it's a .001 degree change... at 80 it feels as stable as an M3, and a lot more stable than my E39 which sways around a lot at 85...

This is normal. I remember my car when it was brand new, it did this on freeways where it was concrete type and not asphalt paved type.

It's probably the groove lines on the freeway. I experienced this too until I chnaged my wheels and tires.

i might try adding a spoiler before changing the tires first. it gives me creeps going faster knowing the stability they said.

I have the Scion spoiler too and I've taken it up about 160 km/h with no "sway". I think the spoiler actually is functional despite it's relatively small size, and the car feels planted.
Maybe get a spoiler if it worries you? I actually think the Scion spoiler looks awesome on the car. It's almost as if it's a perfect blend between the GT86/BRZ Limited spoiler and the Five Axis spoiler. |

Don't run out and get a spoiler. They don't have any effect until the car is well over the speed limit. First of all, check the tire pressure, this can have a surprisingly large effect. Second, there is a possibility that a tire is bad, slipped belt, etc..
But, before you check that out, drive the car a while longer to get used to it. It will drive differently than an accord, especially an older car that has gotten quirky with age. |

Did you do exhaust? The factory muffler acts as a aero device. I can feel the difference at high speed in stability.
