If the 2014 comes with these extra bits, that means the car will be slightly heavier, making the 2013 the lightest, and thus most desirable year

I doubt there will be much of a price increase (if any). The only changes that seemed to be confirmed are the Aha radio app, knee pads, and badge modication (which is most likely the Subaru lettering being removed from the rear). These are really minor changes, and there is tons of competition already at the current price point.

I'd take a convertible Scion/Toyota Limited over a faster STI version. I don't think it's going to happen anyways. The BRZ is a limited production car. If it were more massively produced, then maybe, but even then we'd have to wonder what price point it would sell at and how that sits with the WRX and STI. Plus it throws out the original purpose of this car. I guess I could have replied to a more appropriate thread on this topic. In the end, know that deep down I do desire the same as you, but I just think it's all hopes and dreams. What we have now is what we'll continue to get. |

I must be the only one who was glad that the steering wheel was a blank 3-spoke....

I got the car to drive... not to play music. I like the car as it is. If they are going to change anything for the forseable future it ought to be the little things (crickets, creaks, etc..). Okay, okay I guess a couple extra horse power might help too.

I bought this car because it was described by Toyota as a blank canvas to be molded in the image of the street tuner's dream. Back in late 2010 when this was just a concept...

http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/729/subarunavihu.jpg It's a bigger screen than ours (thanks to not having the CD slot), and it has physical buttons for commonly used functions. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1371754152 How hard would have it been for Fujitsu Ten to center the screen, provide a tuning knob to the right of it, and add "Mode" and "Seek Up/Down" physical buttons? BAM, 90% of complaints solved. I don't need SWCs, I don't even really like them (I tend to want to mess with the radio while pulling out of parking spots, and I usually have the wheel at a weird angle where I either can't use them, or need to stop and think about which orientation they're in), but it's a pain to locate a 3/8" touch button somewhere in the lower left quadrant of the screen whenever I want to change the radio station.

JDM tips won't happened... they were removed to comply with US regulations.
I, for one, don't want steering wheel controls. I don't find them a necessity as I've never had them and I'd like to keep it that way. I like the limited controls.... I just drove a buddy to NY to pick up a 7 series BMW he was buying. The insane number of buttons on a lot of today's cars is, well, insane. I am seriously planning on trading to a 2014 BRZ limited from my FR-S. Not because I'm not happy with the FRS but just because I'd like the few additional amenities that I decided I could do without 13 months ago when I sided with the FRS.

may I ask where in Canada you're in? or even better yet, what dealership(s) you're dealing with.
