There should be more information online about contesting a speeding ticket in Utah.
I might, but since my record is clean and my time is expensive, it may be better to just take the fine. Traffic school online will already wipe the point from my record. I'll have to see what I can do though.

Yeah...I got my first ever speeding ticket in mine too... but I can't really fault the cop in my case... I was going...quite fast...and in California the show up in court thing is kinda annoying cus you have to show up the first time to plead guilty or not then, they schedule you for the "trial" where if the cop doesn't show up you MIGHT get let off the hook, so you have to go twice. I went with traffic school =/

As for the pebbles - consider Expel or 3M?
I got mine covered with Expel...full hood, partial fenders, partial roof...just areas more likely to get hit.

I got the ClearBra, which helps, but I was also worried about my windshield. I guess I'm just a little overprotective. Gonna call them tomorrow and ask what the process for fighting it in Utah is, I'm originally a NorCal native so I'm not quite familiar with traffic court here.

The last ticket I got was in CA probably 10 years ago, speeding around a drunk driver. Officer pulled me over instead of him cause he saw me first and gave me the same treatment. Didn't bother fighting it then. Apparently I should be slowing down instead of aggressively avoiding things... But try to convince the BRZ to do that. It has a mind of it's own.

Laws vary, but in CA for tickets if you want to fight:

- postpone on last day of original ticket
- postmark a written letter for Trial by Written Declaration on last day of extension
- http://www.courts.ca.gov/8450.htm#tab9275
- If you somehow lose, just ask judge for traffic court.

The goal here is to drag it out so you have the upper hand. About the only thing you'll lose (at the start) is your fine, which you have to pay no matter what.

I did mine the other day. I love it and it looks sick with my rear diffuser. Just gotta check the connection from mid pipe to front pipe. May not be tighten enough

Not trying to rain on your parade, but that is simply an "intake" not a "cold air intake". That is located in the stock position, drawing the same air as the stock intake basically. A cold air intake works by reaching cooler air (typically from down by the road surface), thereby lowering the intake air temp.

While this is theoretically true, why is lower air cooler? Doesn't the higher ambient temperature of the ground warm the air? Is there some article somewhere that proves the lower air is actually cooler?

A great question. The lower air is actually "cooler" than the air in the engine compartment, which is where the OEM and this intake pull the air from. Take a look at the Perrin intake and you'll see that it is located outside the engine compartment behind the front bumper; the configuration looks quite different.

Now, how much difference does this make? I guess you could dyno them back to back...not sure there's data to conclusively say one is the much better than the other.

Oh right, of course. Forgot the air is more inside the engine compartment at first.

Thanks for the explanation!
