If you're getting whiffs of E85, it's most likely dripping out very slowly and drying up by the time you have the hood up. Before I sprung the manly leak, I kept getting whiffs of it and didn't see anything. It was only after a few 3rd gear & 0-100 pulls that the floodgates finally opened up. No squirting but steady dripping stream of E85. Good thing I had a bunch of microfibre towels in the glovebox after hearing about the initial leaks.

My top clamp seems to be holding (it's the stock T clamp, I've screwed it down till it can screw no more) but the bottom one I've added the stock T clamp under my busted worm drive clamp. No more E85 smell so far. I'll probably add another T clamp to the top just to make doubly sure.

As for the hose clamp vs hose itself, the hose definitely could be better. The stock hose was nice and thick with a smaller inner diameter. There was hardly any force exerted from the clamps - the hose itself stuck to the metal pipe like a limpet and I'm sure many of us had to cut it off.

Guess you could draw on a paper towel with marker. Wrap a small piece of it around the joints. If the ink smears then its getting wet. Kinda like the cell phone water indicators.

Crossing my fingers things are still dry.

Still dont have the tune though.

I'll get some photos after work, especially of the busted worm drive clamp.

With the stock rubber hose, you can see when it bulges that the clamp is good and tight. With the fabric outer sheath, you don't really see much until you clamp the shyt out of it.

Also you US guys have that nifty metal fitting at the top so there shouldnt be any leaks there - we Aussies have to worry about both the top and bottom leaking

I'm going to need some clarification on that. Can you highlight which parts you're talking about using the photos I took?

Are you saying you have a clamp on the engine side as well as the fuel rail side?

Yep that's correct. Our stock hose is clamped on both ends. The plastic clip + metal hex fitting doesnt lock onto our metal tube end properly on the engine side.

Here's some photo overload of my fuel lines - first 4 are of my initial setup and the overtightened screw clamp. Next 2 is the double clamped setup and last photo is the other high pressure line with stock hose and clamp.

Still don't like the screw clamps though, they don't clamp evenly around the hose. The stock clamps are pretty darn good so I'll be ordering these:

Did you guys get a chance to see our test rig that has the Vortech kit and FlexFuel installed? 290+whp/200+wtq ... on pumpgas! The gauge was reading like e10! It's like these kits were a match made in heaven

I haven't had any complaints but if there's a better clamp ill use it.

No matter what clamp you use make sure the line is on good.

Make sure the line is done a good amount and tighten that clamp.

You don't want to drive around with a leak.

I'm going to have update ready to ship out to everyone in a few days
