Mine was rattling, but mine came from the plastic covers over the child safety latches on the rear deck. I put some shelf-liner between the cover and the plastic piece it snaps into and the rattle is gone.

I this this issue too. But i found this out after they put padding on my left and ride airbags

1. Lithium Greese/WD-40 only works for a short time
2. Only solution: Closing the latch hard

Did you try using some electrical tape?

Lithium Greese/WD-40 works for only 2-4 weeks for me too. WD-40 seems to work longer.

I've never tried closing the latch hard. Does it work until you fold down the seats again? If so, then I'll try that the next time. I applied WD-40 this week, so it will be 3 weeks or so until I can try it.

I tried blue painters tape around the hook to make them thicker. It actually made it worse.

I just checked mine and slamming them shut worked but i discovered the handles from the trunk access are extremely sensitive and you have to close them from inside the backseat when i tried to close it from the trunk the right latch wouldn't latch.

also.

when you slam the back seats, the fix only lasts a short while (at least for me). after you drive for a bit and go over some uneven pavement or cracks, the vibration will cause the issue to reoccur.

anyone else experience that?

I found in another forum about the rattle/vibration noise from the rear seat latch.
His one was caused by the black plastic piece touching the silver piece. (If you can tell what I mean from the above picture.) He got rid of the noise by applying some grease in between the 2 pieces.

This is not the case for me because mine is a popping noise and not rattle/vibration noise. But if anyone here is interested, it might work.

I had this problem in my WRX. I wrapped the bar that connects the seat to the latch with electrical tape and it got rid of the rattle.

I sprayed all around but I haven't sprayed into that area specifically, I'll have to try.

I tried using Vasline it's been over 3 weeks and no noise. I'll update if there's any change.

i noticed my latchers werent lining up the same on the metal bars the latch too. on the side that was affected, i folded down the seat, pealed back the carpet down by the hinge point, loosened the single bolt on top, pulled that corner of the seat as far forward as possible, and snugged it back down. the seat now shuts more solid, and the rattle/pop is gone. ill take a picture of the mentioned hinge later, i forgot to do it earlier.
