Will this deal with really bad bug splatter, or should I address that first?
there's a button on every persons post at the bottom right corner that says "thanks" - click that on the first post of the thread.

It should deal with bug splatter if done properly

I'm very appreciative of this information. Thank you to the OP. Sadly, no employees at my local Home Depot or Lowes know what a grit guard is. Still on the hunt!

Question: how do I get rid of hard water spots? I washed it few times already and the hard water spot is still there. The hard water spot seems like its been blended into the opticoat and it feels smooth.

Washed my car with single bucket method today.

1.5oz of ONR into 3gal of water
0.5oz ONR in 32oz spray bottle
2nd bucket of clean water for dirty MF towels and sponges

I used the entire spray bottle for the car and wheels. I soaked each panel before washing it as I noticed there were little to no grime left on the towel after washing. I blot dried with a large MF towel and went over the area with a smaller MF towel. The 2nd bucket was just for tossing out the dirty towels after each panel. I used 6 towels, a sponge and a wash mitt.

This has been super helpful and had great results with my first wash using this method. Quick question...

Would Mother's California Gold Instant Detailer be an adequate substitute for Meguiar's #34 Final Inspection? Or do they do different things?

I think you're crazy to wash a car without hosing the bejeebus out of it first, especially if it's dirty.

It doesnt jive with me either. Ill continue to soak mine first and remove as much loose dirt and debris as i can before washing

The more that people try this method the more that they fall in love with it's simplicity.

Discovered ONR a few years ago and hardly ever use a hose anymore! It is so nice to wash my car in my garage no matter what it's like outside. The newest ONR with wax (green version) is amazing.

I've never used this product before but will soon after reading this post and seeing some reviews. My only concern is how come we don't need to pre-rinse the car? WOuldn't wiping it just pick up tiny rocks and dirt, which is normally removed with a pre-rinse, get dragged all along with the sponge?

Each his own. I've washed cars in pouring rain before. You use this stuff "dry" on a car just back from 100 miles on a dirt road? I'll pass, thanks!

When using any rinseless or waterless wash , a little common sense goes a long way. This has never been recommended for cars returning from a mud bog or after months of neglect. For most of the members reading the wash, wax and detailing section of this forum , their cars are not usually going to fall into that category. It is a great method for maintaining a above usual enthusiast ride.
