the description says the harness is for h11. the shopping page for the outback fog light does not mention what bulb is used with it however

If anyone was trying to get the as close to OEM as possible when ordering the Fog Lights you can order the Nuts and bolts from Subaru as well.

Nut Part #902510034
Bolt Part #901000171

Diagram of the Nut and Bolt. Talking about number 2 & 3. Come in packs of 6 I believe.

Nuts and Bolts from Subaru - Still Have Them!

Did you actually finish your own installation using the part numbers you recommended?

Been there and tried to do that - did not work! Thicknesses and hole sizes did not match and I still have mine left over from the installation. Used Machine # 6 instead with minimal drilling to accommodate for exact size.

I realize that is what the Subaru parts diagram recommended for the Outback at the first place, but most certainly they did not work on my FR-S. Thought I'd let you know, thanks.

No I haven't gotten everything together to do the install yet. Was working on getting all the pieces together before I start. Well I guess a trip to Home Depot will have to work then.

my fog lights were installed by the dealer

how easy is it to change out the bulbs?

and can the fog light assembly and wiring be able to handle 4300k fog lights? (to match the 4300k headlights)

Bulbs are very easy to change out, remove the three clips by the fender, reach in and twist to pull the bulb out of the housing and then unplug the bulb from the harness. Here's a picture of the clips stolen from one of F1point4's DIY:

The assembly's or wiring's ability to handle different bulbs has nothing to do with their color temperature but their wattage (power consumption) I have 55W Nokya 2500K bulbs in mine but I'm sure equivalent 55W 4300K bulbs would work just fine.

Now after turning off my fog lights they are not turning on after trying the switch?

When are they supposed to turn on?

With headlights off and fog light switch on should they turn on regardless of hand brake position?

With parking lights on do they turn on?

With lights all off do they turn on?

I'm not sure what setup your dealer installed but if they were an OEM option like the Scion Foglight Kit, they should only be on when your headlights are on (low beam). You can check your connections to make sure the bulb is fully seated in the connector and if it still doesn't turn on, try plugging in one of the factory bulbs back in and see if they turn on. If the factory bulb turns on and the one you switch in doesn't, perhaps there's some incompatibility with your bulbs. Assuming your foglights are OEM, they should be H11 style connectors, maybe confirm this on your lighting package first? They should look like this on the right:

They should only turn on with the low beams, they will turn off with high beams on

Their operation has nothing to do with the handbrake position, that's only for the DRL.

They will be off when your parking lights are on, only when your switch on your low beams and the foglight switch will they turn on.

They will not be on when all your lights are off, only when your low beams are on.
