What the flim flam? There are dealerships that can spend that kind of time to search internet forums for customers' first names and then perform super sleuthing activities to deduce that "WillBRZ" from Northern California from an 86 forum must be the same Will <insert last name here> who just walked in with a Subaru BRZ? Oh and let's print it all out so we have evidence to stash in his file!

Aside from putting "Will", "BRZ", and half of a state together, have you ever posted anything that identifies who you are or what your license plate is, etc? If not, there's something else at play here.

Some people on this very forum work at a dealership. It's not unreasonable to think that one of them had seen OP's car posted before and knew that it had been modified, giving a heads up to the service manager or whoever.

What's next...Subaru denies a claim for DI failure noting that is Toyota's problem. I interacted with a Subaru dealership locally and they were arrogant, idiotic, and lacked knowledge of cars.

My first Scion was the tC when it first came out. I bought the TURD SC and it failed. They replaced it without question. I have put about 60k on the replacement SC without any issues. Toyota is not new to warranty issues concerning sports cars. People were swapping turbos on the Supra when they first bought them.

This forum will not dissolve because of dealerships patrolling. This car was built to take to the track and then be a daily driver (assuming the car is stock). If they will not fix something based faulty/worn out parts. Tinting your windows and upgrading your lights WILL NOT void your warranty. Now, turbos can even be arguable with certain mechanical problems? Just because you buy a turbo/SC does not mean your drivetrain warranty is automatically void. They HAVE to prove modification caused part failure. The turbo will not help your case yet it is not doom and gloom.

Everyone on here is doing such great work and I like to checking in on updates daily. I will put a DIY on BRZ headlamps for FRS soon. I may not though as it could void my warranty because it will heavily modified...bunch of idiots.

That's why I asked if he posted anything self-identifying. I can't see how else they connected the dots.

It might be a good idea for those with mods or who autocross, etc. to make sure they never post pics of their license plate, vin, or themselves in front of their car.

If you're super paranoid....change the location under your avatar or leave it vague, and don't ever post your full name in a thread or the about me profile page...

I would love to see Diablo d+k sucker Subaru go sleuthing then...

Warranty denied: Owner drives car 4 times a month 5mph above the posted speed limit. Conclusion: Street racing in front of a church.

It's actually called Diablo Subaru? Do they realize Diablo means devil? I would never do business with a place called devil/demon. LOL

I think all the dealers realized this site is a large base of people's issues so they decide they can deny you warranties and deny their own loss of profit. Youshould all probably take the time to black out our license plates and vins, in any photos, as well as remove your location from the site as well as if you have your real name as the username it should be removed as well. Just a little bit of extra insurance, I remember when CSGMike had his warranty claim denied, someone mentioned they went online and found substantial track use or something.

BBB is useless. Business PAY to join BBB. You think it's really going to affect their revenues if you complain to the BBB? They'll just give them a pat on the hand and move on.

Mostly true. BBB Ratings and the threat of diminished ratings can influence certain individuals and cause certain actions to be undertaken, I've seen it work personally.

Besides, the BBB suggestion was in addition to 5 other more effective solutions to deal with the problem.

Nope nothing :/ I guess I have my mod list in my "garage" so they matched it up with location and first name. They even printed out my "garage" to show me how modified it is...lmfao
