He got it from eating infected pork, like the swine flu. If you watched, Rick feeds the pigs worms, and even says, "These worms will give them good protein." But think about it, they have buried people that were bitten and infected. Worms feed on infected corpses, pigs feed on infected worms, humans feed on infected pigs. That's also what killed the one pig, and the boar in the woods that the crazy lady wanted.

Not sure how I missed this thread. I got into the series during season 2. This is filmed in my mom's town (Senoia, Ga) which they shutdown a few nights during the week to film. Can't tell you how many times we've spotted the actors during during or shopping.

Guess I missed that part cause it's a slight blur with the pigs lol. But thanks, didn't even think about that.

Patrick had that crazy flu that makes you hemorrage on the inside. He died from the flu and then once he was dead he turned into the zombie. Everyones got the zombie disease but you only turn once you die. Not saying I'm right just sharing how I interpreted it.

Anyways, I'm not sure exactly what disease the pigs have. I thought they had the crazy flu rather than being "zombie infected." Thought I herd Hershel suggest that the flu is jumping species but I could be making that up. The pigs were bleeding on the inside which caused them to turn blue, essentially bruises everywhere. Starting to doubt myself though
