It always been 17 inch wheels. The tC comes with 18 inch wheels. There is no way there were going to make a monospec FR-S come with tiny 16 inch wheels!

With so much R&D spent on the 215/45/75 non-staggered tires, I doubt Scion is going to equip them with wider/heavier/more expensive tires.

I'm not an expert in tires, but I'd imagine changing the tires to a staggered setup will dramatically change the vehicle dynamics that are different than the 86's original intent.

I have a strong feeling that this was a typo.
