Differential adjustment - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

My car being turbo'd is no longer under drivetrain warranty and I have some slack in my diff. Does anyone know if this diff uses threaded adjusters on the carrier bearings for backlash adjustment or is it shims?

I've never heard of a threaded adjusters.

I'm honestly not sure, but I would image it's shims like 99% of the vehicles out there.

Really? My Toyota pickup had them, 14 bolt Chevy's did too.

Pretty much every Ford 8 & 9 inch rear end for 30+ years had threaded adjusters also. My 4Runner has them. So did my Suzuki Samurai & Tracker.
