evo3 silencer install/removal difficulty solved.

I remember read a lot of people were having trouble removing and installing the silencers when the exhaust was on the car and I think I found a pretty viable solution:5x.8 winged nuts. All you do is install the screws backwards and stick the L wrench in and twist. The only problem is since these nuts are metric the nuts are hard to find... it took me two lowes and a home depot to get enough.

not sure if the picture posted, never uploaded anything...

The first 1,000 miles was loud and the drone was terribad, but now that it's broken in I can drive without the silencers on. Carbon helps quiet down the exhaust apparently, either that or I'm becoming deaf.

Sorry I'm not home until next Monday... I'll post pictures then
But basically there is no tool. I put the screws GReddy provided in backwards then I held it in place with the 3mm L wrench and I turned the wing nuts by hand. I found it easier than trying to use channel locks or a ratchet.

With silencers it almost sounds stock to me at everything above 2k rpm.

Lol ok thanks. I'm only asking because I want an exhaust that will still be loud after the break in.

Trust me, it'll be louder once you remove the stock cats, it's already loud with them on. lol
