This is why EVERYONE should buy the first year model, before they nerf it!

I know I can still learn alot about driving. Just because your an Enthusiast doesn't mean you can drive.

Look at the MR-2 example above. Not always a good idea.

Stuff like that is incredibly easy to fix.. if you even want to. Some swear by the 91/92 MR2s as being superior to the 93+ cars.

Granted I prefer the 93+, but not just for the suspension redesign.

"LOL, they can't even drive a 200 HP car and say it is underpowered?"

At least there'll be many cars in the junkyards. Put get out 500 PS from your turboed 86, if the engine blows up get an other for free.

I have a properly set up FWD car that I track and autocross, so lift-off oversteer is no stranger to me.

That said, I won't show whichever variant of the AS1 I get the racetrack until I have at least 5 autocrosses under my belt just to get the handling characteristics near the limit of this car down.

If you don't know what you're doing, keep the traction control on. Don't neuter the car out of fear though. The Miata and RX-8 are both very neutral FR cars and don't seem to have a problem with excessive spin-out crashes. Just sayin'.

What if ppl just think with the mindset that if you encounter any oversteer at all...just keep your foot on the gas and plow through it??

Too bad this won't work for FR cars ;\

I do love lift oversteer and use to always set up the Legends car this way. However I do suspect the OP is right that boneheads will be wrecking these and that the more expensive BRZ will also draw the older crowd.

I'm expecting insurance to be rather high on the car because of accidents. I slipped past this on my Subaru's by usually swapping turbo driveline into GC8 chassis...no, my 94 Impreza L doesn't make 400whp... (looks the other way).

At least I'll have a plethora of FA20 engines to pick up for testing

i was thinking about this thread a little and it makes me giggle. people used to drive just fine with no ABS no TC and none of this vehicle monitoring stuff and ppl are concerned about a car like this coming out that has tc/abs/stability control. makes me giggle.

Haven't read through every post but....

What are you talking about OP? EVERY car will exhibit some form of lift-throttle oversteer. It's simple physics. When one lifts off the throttle they shift weight to the front tires giving them increased traction. If the front tires are turned, you may spin. I've seen this happen to many cars at the track. Infineon T7 and Thunderhill T15 is common for such mistakes.
