They aren't that loud, if you go catted UEL, and full header-back catless resonated system, you lose a lot of the torque dip and gain 10-20 hp, but if you wish to pass emissions you need a tune, preferably ecutek, to ditch the CEL that comes with going with High flow cats, its pretty pricey but if you don't want to deal with it stick with the mill-tek, most horsepower and rumble for your money with a cat-back, quite frankly the TRD is a gimmick not much horsepower, a deep rumble, but no change in pipe size

So I finally got my car today and of course I had the TRD CAI and catback installed before delivery, and I've got to say, it is AMAZING. Seriously, no videos do this exhaust any justice! It is simply outstanding.
I had people staring at the car as I drove past them, not just because of the looks, but the sound too. I went to a gas station, and a few guys came up to me and told me how amazing it is.
It is much louder in person than videos might lead you to believe. It's nice, deep, throaty growl, and loud too.
Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. Probably the single best upgrade I made to the car along with the CAI.

The exact same thing has happened to me. Pulled into the pump and a few turned around. No extra noise, just the nice rumbled made people curious.

I've had 3 people strike up a conversation at the pumps over the car. Let alone the lookies when I drive down the road. Its fun..

I am having my TRD exhaust installed today. The owner of the Scion Dealership in my area put one on his car and it sounds great. Not too loud, but a nice rumble. I test drove it and it is only loud when you nail it. Cruising is quiet at all speeds. A few guys have videotaped it on YouTube - in and out of their car if you want some indication of how it will sound.

Can't wait.
