catback: TRD or Milltek or ??

hey guys, im lookin for a catback
i love the boxer rumble and would like something that would enhance it, i dont want anything loud or crazy thats why im only replacing the catback
Milltek and TRD are on the top of my list, im leaning more towards Milltek it sounds meaner IMO
im open for opinions!

Milltek

Nameless (it's only an axleback though but sounds amazing) deep and decently quiet on its own
Perrin resonated is really quiet
TRD is overpriced and the pipe sizing isn't even 2.5", there are better options aftermarket for a deep exhaust tone.

I don't know much about the Milltek system

To really enhance that boxer rumble you need the UEL header. That's the key. You can pick your flavor of deep sounding exhaust for the tail end.

i dont know much about the exhaust system, would replacing to UEL header pass texas yearly inspection? header + exhaust would probably be too loud for my taste

If you keep a cat in the front pipe, it should. The most Texas does on inspection is a sniffer in some counties. I live in Austin so we don't do the sniffer test, but up in Dallas/Ft. Worth, they do. I had catless headers on an '02 Camaro SS for 4 years and always passed. If that thing can pass. this car definitely can. Yes, headers do add a lot of volume compared to the stock header.

I got a TRD exhaust on mine but I'll get my car this week. I'll let you know what I think of it. It's supposed to sound really sweet with the TRD CAI and I got that too.

Milltek makes very nice exhausts and have been around for a while. They are much more popular in Europe than here.

I have the trd and I really enjoy the louder than stock, but super easy on the ears also. I want that boxer rumble also...but im not sure if adding a uel will destroy the exhaust sound I am comfortable with.

I can vouch greatly for the Milltek catback system. I'm in absolute love with it. I have the NON-resonated version (If you want the boxer rumble I suggest you go non-resonated) and it's perfect. The huge tips alone make the car look much more aggressive. I've heard the TRD catback and wasn't too impressed. I had the Milltek catback alone for about 2 months, but just yesterday put in a test pipe to delete the 2nd cat and it sounds god like! Also good for when it's turbo/SC time with perfect diameter for exhaust flow.

One guy in our group has a TRD from factory. It sounds nice. I think you'd like it. He put a catless front pipe and sounds even nicer.

go visit a scion dealer or view their website to see if any of their cars have the trd on it. one of my dealers did so I was able to test drive it and thats how I knew how it sounded before hand. the miltek tips do look awesome! same with the trd D shape tips with the rear diffuser as well
