spacers and stock studs

I'm currently running 17x7.5 +45 rims and might want to look into spacers to get closer to flush. I know very thin spacers can just be placed on the hub and the wheel over it and everythings fine and then there's the big ones that bolt on to the stock studs and then have their own studs coming out. I Plan on 25mm for the back which from what i seem generally bolt on to the existing studs and then have their own but for the front i'm not sure if i should do 25 as well or go a little smaller. If i go smaller, how big can i go before having to replace the studs?

as soon as you start to cover up the hub-centric ring you should go with a bolt on spacer with its own hub-centric ring.

i was thinking about possibly getting the b2 auto designs kit that comes with 2 25mm and 2 20mm. do you know the length of the stock studs? i'm pretty sure my rims have a little space in case the stud pokes a bit but if i can cover them completely with the spacer that would be best bet

I dont know the length of the studs but I have read on here a few times that they aren't very long and anything more than 5mm would require longer studs.

I went with 20mm Front and 30mm Rear H&R spacers to go along with 18x7.5" +48 wheels and a 1" drop.

One thing to note about my front spacers... My front wheels appear to press up against the short acorn nuts that came with the &H&R spacers whereas the additional 10mm clearance the rear spacers had cleared the back of my rear wheels. It is probably somewhat dependent on the design of the back of your wheel, but with a 25mm spacer in the front you (or at least I) should not have any clearance issues with the spacer nuts.

$209 is an alright price for 4 spacers, but the description seems to say it is only for a pair at the end (?). Appears to contradict itself.

i think they just copy and pasted the description. i saw that deal for 4 spacers listed here on the forum in the wheels section. looks like a single set of 2 spacers is around $113 and they're doing a set of 4 for $209

I paid $260 no tax + shipped for my H&Rs. I just heard they were the benchmark when it came to spacers (don't really know the difference from personal experience). Part of the higher price for H&R is probably due to the fact that they're still made in Germany. Honestly from my perspective, the spacers are primarily a cosmetic thing to make the wheels more flush. I like the feel of the car better without the spacers on.
