Hmm, I don't recall mine being that loud, but it could just be that everything is being amplified by the mic being right next to the charger.

The pipe going into the throttle body comes close to the belt in two locations - make sure that thing is clear on both pulleys that come within half an inch of it. Check that the belt is laying centered on all the pulleys to rule out anything out of alignment. Check that the oil drain tube isn't rubbing up against the belt or anything below the charger.

If all of that checks out ok, I'd say it's normal unless you've got a bearing issue on the blower itself. Oil level checked out OK right?

I think its the mic amplifying high frequency sounds... I will get a video tonight of mine and see if its about the same sound.

I do know mine changes on how loud it is depending on temperature and if its a cold start or been running for a while

Mine makes some odd noises and usually at 2000RPM the whine sounds like a squeak.
As mentioned temps seem to effect it a bit.

That idle sound appears to be ok. I will post mine as well.

Yes i checked everything and nothing is touching.

Just sounds like something is grinding inside the blower.

I really dont hear any "whine" coming from supercharger i mostly hear my exhaust when going WOT, keep in mind that i have q300 with catless pipe, over pipe and borla uel headers.

However i do hear blowing either coming from sc or intake when going WOT, if thats what you guys refer as whine? or i might have a huge leak somewhere because i dont hear any whine at all, i only though that happens with twin screw sc

nope, I wouldn't buy the most over priced FI kit with the least power.
a lot of people are having problems with this kit melting the pulley and shredding the belt because it hits the intake tube.

I dunno about "a lot". By that measure, there are a lot of turbo folks with all kinds of problems as well. Even blown engines.

I bought the vortech kit BECAUSE it was the most overpriced kit with the lowest power.

I'm actually thinking about putting a larger pulley for less boost, to make it even slower.

He is fairly rooted in his stance against vortech, and makes it very apparent...

Take your intake box off the blower and see if there any oil or anything collecting on the silver area inside the blower.

Take pictures, also make sure your oil level is correct. You only hear this noise at idle nothing odd outside of that?

While you are going that, also physically grab the compressor wheel and see if you can turn it back and forth, also pull/push it in and out.

If everything is tight, I would not worry about it... it sounds like normal operating noise to me, albeit louder maybe due to the microphone.

Also just shoot vortech and email, and link them they video. See what they think
