Vortech blower a bit of noise?

Just noticed that my vortech blower is pretty loud on idle, never had any centrifugal experience before so im not sure if that's normal.

Any input?

1080p for better sound.

The video is private? Want to compare it mine which is also having some noise in idle.

Isnt that the point?

Can't see the video so I'm not sure what the sound is, but mine, at idle, has a constant whirring type of noise that you would expect from a belt driven charger. I actually like the sound, and my only regret with this kit compared to a twin screw is that the sound is lost in the rest of the engine/exhaust once you start giving it gas while the twin screw is able to retain the supercharger whine.

I assume that this is not what you're referring to though, so I'm curious to see your video once you can set the permissions to public.

Common for all Vortech blowers I've heard and the primary reason I don't like them.

TIL: 1080p provides better sound. Also the video is still private, but blower whine at idle is pretty standard.

Probably normal whine from the blower. It sounds lovely to me! :)

I actually can't really hear my twin screw, because of my exhaust. But I still love the sound of blowers, so that makes me sad

make sure it's not the belt grinding on the intake tube!

The blower makes noise at all RPM, but you can only hear it in the lower RPM range due to exhaust noise

Do you have any experience with the system at all?

Sniper2606 07-17-2013 02:35 PM

EDIT: Its public now.

And now its not hitting the belt or anything at all.

v1ru5 07-17-2013 02:37 PM

A car in front of you can hear the whine all the way up to redline when you drive through an enclosed tunnel, just ask @Sargy - I think he is close to deaf now :)

Sounds normal to me man, I wouldn't worry about it... just enjoy it!
