Either they need to look at it again or the AFR reading is messed up or there is something else wrong with your car. You're going from overly lean to way rich. 18 AFR? Please say it wasn't full throttle. This is what it should look like (NOT an innovate graph, I stole this from sportsguy's thread for reference):

WOT, it was over 18. And tony was, but I really had to get to work, so I had to have someone else fine tune it, so I could go try and make some money to pay my bills.

Even with the one or two revisions I had and I knew the car was acting up in certain spots, it was still ok to putz around on. My AFR's were never even close to that high through those spots either. That AFR curve is scary man.. i'd get it looked at again or continue to have tony edit your previous tune with him. |

base map was good, but when I got the revised map, the AFR was that lean. that was the first run on the revised map.

How many pulls did he do with that AFR being so lean? I am gonna go out on a limb and say that the reading is in accurate. That high of AFR and you WOT would have put a nice big hole in the block. Either way get the tune and car checked out. Best of luck.

I did one pull with it that high, then refused to do anymore until we fixed it

I'm looking through all of my data logs right now. I've been through 5 revisions and not one of them ever goes over 15, and thats partial throttle (cruising). WOT slopes right down to 11.02 where it holds steady. |

...it's amazing what these new motors take. The DI allows you to keep firing when it is super lean, and the timing retard works quite well. Sodium filled valves keep you from melting them, as does the late firing of the direct injection (more cooling vs fueling). So while long term it will be disaster, I think the car is likely fine if you're still running and pushing 240whp.

sorry, couldn't resist. I do have a final map to try, but I don't have access to the dyno to verify AFRs until later in the week. I'll try to get back out there on friday
